Erik, I'm pretty sure it's the top gasket. I did an extensive cleaning of the bike this weekend and made sure it wasn't the PCV. Crackhead, when the first one was replaced it was done under warranty and the dealer replaced it with the newer or current part. They also replaced the top motor mount at the same time.

My local dealer is backordered on the stock ignition module. What is the best/quickest source for these? I have an old 2001 Blast and this seems to have gone bad.

Part number Y0459.11A7 or old part number 32687-00YA.

I went ahead and ordered a coil since this was cheap enough and could be part of the problem.

Sycho: Top gasket is easy. You can do it!

PS Sycho's bike is so clean it looks brand new! Heck, even the wheels look new! I think has 22,000 miles on it?!

Hey guys, about to replace the rear tire and belt. Do I need to take the rightside footpeg/arm off? Is there a way to do it without taking the arm off?

It's a pain in the @$$.

leave the arms on and use them to support the bike while you have the tire off and changing the belt.

The belt needs 5 torx (T27) screws removed. 3 on the engine pulley cover and 2 on the right side rear pulley cover (which pulls enough out of the way to slip the belt on).
Since the belt isnt put on until the rear wheel is on (fully). I'd do them both as separate procedures. (Tire first, then belt.) Belt change take 5 minutes (+ or -).

Save the old belt!

I read that the stock brackets can be modified to work and the excess trimmed off. Then use the Dremel and a pencil to outline and trim the plastic to the lights shape, a m type shape - re-add the trim and glue it and your done! Get rid of the outer spacers on the signals and you've got a really tight look.

Dont open the DynoJet kit. Return it for a refund and buy extra 'stock' jets and "shims". Jets are less than $6 each and shims are .75 a pack. We really cant tell you where to go with the Dynojet kit, so unless you're really good with carbs or want to spend a whole lot of time tuning it in, then keep the Dynojet kit. If you're just going to go with recommended jetting, we can do that here for a lot less money.
(unless I'm mistaken, Dynojet does not uses any kind of stock compatible parts in their kits. Needles and jets are not interchangeable with stock items. So if you need parts, then it'll be Dynojet only). My opinion!

I like the V & H. Cheap, looks good and it works.

DynoJet uses stock primary jetting, but the emulsion tube is different and uses Kehinen main jets which have more selection as far as sizing goes.
The kit also includes a drill bit, .125 for drilling out the vacuum port in the slide and a different slide spring.
I don't think you will notice a difference using the kit over just modifying the carburetor on a stock blast. I would invest my money in a %^**@, uh whats the name of the part that separates the air flow going into the carb? I think that will give you the best bang for the buck.

A splitter! - would easily fit in stock configuration - especially with 45/170 jetting, 2 1/2turns out on the air screw.

Well, i fired up the bike yesterday!!!!! i need to put a new exhaust gasket on bc there is a massive leak, (just threw the exhaust on to test.

It felt really good to start the bike up. I still need to put all of covers on but i should have be able to ride the bike shortly.

Oh the tool that had the parts bike before me didn't install the front mount on the V&H. So the boat anchor stock exhaust is going back on. Also, i can't believe how much the kick stand assembly weighs.

There are quite a few places where you could drop significant weight off of the bike. like the primary chain and stator area. It is to bad that the stator couldn't be used as the starter.

ok so i finished rejetting the carb however as i open the V&H exhaust and begin to put it on i find that the head pipe and muffler dont exactly fit like a glove is this normal? (for anyone who has used the V&H ssr2 set up) where the head pipe and muffler connect to each other.

Same happened to me last weekend. I couldn't figure out if the muffler went in or over the header.
I looked and found a photo of EZ's on this site.
I followed the direction exactly. Then put some 3 in 1 oil on header and laid under the bike wiggling the muffler trying to line up the muffler bracket w/ mounting holes.
All of a sudden it went in w/ a thunk!! It was in!!

hey can somebody give me some help,i just bought a buell blast for $400,its a 2000,with 6000, miles on it.first thing wrong is the speedometer does not work,[what do i do to fix it]it registers miles but not speed,2nd is the cover over the chain drive is off,the guy i bought it from said the chain guide came off he said he was about to ride it and heard a noise and pulled the cover off to find a broke plastic piece in there,he told me it did not use any oil and ran great up until then,and that it runs fine it just needs this piece that is $35 at the harley place.he and his wife were about to loose there house and had been trying to sell anything of value to pay the bills,so i said $400 was the best i could do,so my ?s are.1 did i do good,2 will this be hard to fix,3 and wtf is up with a speedo that reads miles but doesnt tell speed,and how do i fix it.i have asked these ?s in other forums and never got a answer. thx for any help} o yeah almost forgot the brakes seem good and the bike would be a solid 9 out of 10 in the cosmetic dept.and has a vance and hines pipe on it what ever that is.

its the cover that is over the chain that drives the belt,it has a plastic guide that is broke, thanks 4 the help,where would be the best place to get a parts guide and manual,this damn harley shop is expensive,lol
