I'm with Erik - my 2000 will end up a cafe bike, I'll just put the stock parts aside.

Crack, that's the stage 1 lightening. If you look carefully, you'll see the valve stem caps have been removed (unsprung weight reduction) and the ignition key has had the heavy blue plastic whittled away.

Those are the NG - heck I belonged to their old yahoo group - the link I posted belongs to one of the original British Cafe groups - stating the truth - the Blast is America's best shot for an American Cafe bike.

This has nothing to do with anything, but I just turned 8,500 miles on my bike -- almost all city riding, and I'm having a scream assaulting this little urban environment.

This bike just keeps getting better.

PS, it's faster without the ants.

Rainman, I just turned 9,220 miles, I feel the same way man. I love this bike dangit! Looking forward to this summer, Now that my bike is running the way it should(stupid bad ignition module). The Blast is perfect for the small city I live in. Now, if people would just look before pulling out in front of me...

Do it Rainman...there is nothing like hitting the road for a couple days with no plans, no destination, just the road in front of you. Stop when you feel like it, then get up and do it all over again the next day.

I leave for Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota in just 2 weeks from today unless I can score a couple extra days off and leave early. My head as been in the clouds for days now, the closer it gets to departure time the harder it is for me to stay focused and that's when it's most important for me to be focused, so I can leave the joint with them prepared for my absence.

Anyway, I highly recommend road tripping, it's good for the soul!

The4ork - no - just cut off the ends and push up 1/4" to fit.
Sking1973 - see the manual - very simple to do even on a stock bike. Email if you need specifics.

Belt replacement: Remove the 5 torx bolts (T27) that hold the front pulley cover (3) on and the right side of the belt cover (2). Raise the rear wheel off the ground. Push the belt off the rear pulley as you turn the wheel (turning is optional). Remove the belt. Put the new belt on the front pulley and as you turn the wheel slowly work the belt onto the rear pulley. Replace the 2 covers. 5-10 minutes worth of work and lifting the rear wheel off the ground isnt really necessary, just easier.

The best place to get one is at your local Buell Dealer, provided you have one. Otherwise use one of our sponsors in the sponsor section. The belt sells for around $75. The ability to buy it on-line and have it show up at your door three days later is well worth the shipping charge, plus you get the added benefit of the Badweb discount!

Any of our HD/Buell sponsors could probably send one to you. Ask for a Badweb discount!

A couple of days ago I test rode Suzuki's new 'lil thumper TU-250x (at least new to the USA). Good seating ergonomics and classic old-school looks. Not much power and pretty anemic above 45mph, but that might improve as the motor breaks in. FI and one exhaust valve compared to their single GZ250 carb and twin pipes. First gear was so low as to be useless.

2009 Suzuki TU-250x

If Suzuki did this treatment to their 650 Savage (LS , S40) bike it might be a hit among the thumper folk.

Mcyclonegt - you need to go into the primary and tighten your drum bolt.

It's cool. I could ride it around town -- the GZ is a solid, reliable little toy -- but my Blast is too much fun.
