I am attempting to check the primary chain adjustment for the first time. The service manual says to tighten the chain limiting screw to 24 in-lbs. I have a torque wrench but there is not enough clearance to put a socket between the screw and the stock muffler. I suppose I could remove the exhaust but it seems like a hassle. Anyone have a suggestion?

Do the sound method - easier, book method leaves primary too tight, go at least 8 more flats out - see how to in the TKV for the Sound method - you would use a crowsfoot socket.

Thanks EZ.
I was a little annoyed to see the spacer still there. This was supposedly adjusted the last time I had it serviced.
