I have an Idea. I have been reading up on the rear set concepts and I saw one that looks like it can work with my Idea. it has a set up for Dual controls, like a parallellagram from the rear lever and the front lever. The problem with that design is Clearance for the shift linkage between the Y arm and the Swing arm. I am not interested in retaining the "Y Arms" But rather I want to Fabricate a Mount to bolt where the Y would and be a bracket or mounting point for the Firebolt Passenger Peg hangars which could be modified slightly to have Levers integrated. this would look nice, brings the pegs out just a bit and gives the needed clearance. Plus they're easy to acquire. Lots of Bolt riders drop their rear peg hangars. I have a Grey/Silver Powder coated set to match my blast, and would like a little counsel on how to make the shifter work. I'm working on the Mount. Updates and pictures as I get them. Concept Pics soon.

I like it! Very Mad Max!

Poohspot18: Not sure exactly what you need in the way of shifter. If I understand it (as above) you're just going to replace the Y-frames with something else (like Crossroads, above or jProvo's setup) hung off the frame. Shifter and brake options are numerous though. Brake is super easy (as you apparently know). The shifter solution depends on where you mount the pegs. I dont see it as a big problem (need pics though). Unless you get used or fabricate, the shifter usually is about $100, no matter what style you get!

On that Gixer set up all the guy did was get a Sportster shifter, drill out the peg mount, flip it up and bolt on the Gixer shift rod - simple - inexpensive and elegant.
