My guess is that if you're on this website a turbo 'Busa (or any 'Busa) isnt in your frame of reference. You're also probably looking to buy a fast American made motorcycle, not just a fast motorcycle. Any unimaginative squid can buy a 'Busa! | ||

Bubs - my bikes make all kinds of sounds - I only listen for the greatly unusual, do regular inspection and then worry about it later - if something gets unusual sounding. Still some sounds only show up at certain times - normal or not - huff at shut off,the sounds of Titanium and Stainless steel meeting at certain rpms,the whir of a slightly loose primary at start up - as the bike warms up it fades away, the loud sharp ass burble of the exhaust on decel, the jiggle of the key-fob, rear-brake hardware - washer and cotter pin, etc. So many different sounds vying for attention, plus the world around you - enjoy your ride - the bike is probably fine - just keep feeding her oil and it will keep humming along. Well, I rode the bike to work today. It wasn't happy about starting as I had to press the button twice, but once it was going it ran well. It was 27 degrees out, so I'll cut it some slack. I've been fighting an idle problem. While the bike didn't stall this morning, it would run slower and slower to 'almost' stall. I did the boot, but it made no difference. I may give a squirt of gumout into the idle port, or pull the idle jet if needed. I would like a tank of fresh gas as well. Any other suggestions? Is there a fuel filter I should be looking for? It wouldn't be something as simple/silly as a spark plug, would it?? Thanks in advance, PS Bubs. The Turbo PT's are fast. Previous post update; I went for a ride yesterday after work and burned through my tank of gas and refilled with another. The more I rode, the less probs the bike had holding idle when stopped. Long story short, I topped up with a 93 octane 100% pure gasoline (no ethanol) and the bike ran like a dream. A check of the mileage had 125 miles with 2.0 gallons to fill tank after that. I also found out about the rev limiter in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears... _____________________ Firing order: 1 | ||

Remember that Carb splitter I showed you - another gent on another board mounted one from his stack in - and wrote this about the findings: It was beautiful today so i logged alittle over 200 miles on the dan boot and the carb splitter!! Well the carb don't fall off dan boot looking good so far!! And the carb splitter I tell you what Holy Sh*t whole different bike!! I had to increase the jets to 175/48. Not only does it pull harder off the line but when you get up to speed an your cruisin or bogging it your only at 1/4 or so throttle and it work here too!! Couple times wear i would of down shifted instead i just hit the gas an bam she's goin!! Awesome! Hey EZ don't drag feet with this mod it works I'm thinking how to mount one in front the butterfly now! EZ | ||

Yeah - the guys retired, a classic hot-rod type of guy - latest being a Chevy small block in a Porsche 914 - great guy - always thinking - he basically took Tony's/Xgecko idea of a furnace coupling one step further using the stock coupler instead of the straight rubber - smoothing out the exterior of the stock coupler so that it fits in the clamp with out distorting the rubber - that is the boot modification he is talking about - and yeah he made his own stack then fitted his own version in - still its all in the experimental time, but 200 miles is a good start - his miles will end soon with the season - he lives in New York. Real sharp cookie - I have an extra stack and gasket and a dremel and some fuel proof epoxy , sheet metal - what gauge should I use - 18 or 24? EZ | ||

Vas ist das?? carb splitter??? Like a dual plane splitter?? there was a production 125cc bike in the 70's that used an intake splitter down stream from the carb with the idea of keeping the port velocity up at part throttle to help the torque curve.. Inquiring minds want to know..... | ||

Interesting! I thought the splitter was 'common sense snakeoil'. Maybe I'll have to fab something this winter while the bike is apart. Blasters can always use a little kick. | ||

I think I'll fab one up on a spare stack I have and slap it on the daily rider - see what happens - nothing a little sheet metal a dremel, a drill, and some judiciously applied JBWeld, and a new carb gasket couldn't handle. I'll buy the gaskets tomorrow. EZ | ||
