Any changes for 2009? I have been trying to find a blast now for about a month, and both Buell dealers in central indiana don't seem to have any. Looks like I have to wait until the 2009's come out. |

I agree with imadreadhead - Check out Craiglist.com, they usually have a few on there. |

I'm not a big gearhead, and I want to be able to rely on the warranty if something were to break, etc while I am getting used to riding a motorcycle, and learning how it works. |

The 2009 is a scorching good deal. It is sitting, as much as my heart cries "XT !" at the top of my Buell list. The Blast is carving a place in history. Drop me a note if you have any questions about the 2009. |

The Blast goes through changes every year. There's a thread here somewhere about it. The first couple of years had more significant issues, but each year there are improvements. If you can afford it, go new. You might be able to talk them into getting the white body panels ordered and put on... |

I don't see how the bike is $1,000 less. MSRP is $4,695. This is the exact same price as the 2008 |

Dude, get a Blast. I've been one one for about 3 months now. I love, love, love this bike. You will too! |

Did you ask the dealers to find or get you one? I've bought new and I've bought used. The most reliable bikes come from the factory new and you keep up on the maintenance and repairs (but both my new and used Blasts have been very reliable). They are virtually unchanged throughout the entire model run (with yearly minor improvements to parts as needed). I doubt there's much if any difference between a 2008 & 2009. The price of a new Blast has gone up on average less than $50 a year! On another note, I'm sad to see the 'TT' gone. My wife really liked it and I think she would've gone for it had I said lets buy it when we were at the dealer (at least it looked like it had a passenger seat!). My guess is that there isnt much difference between it and another XB model (which one I dont know), so I'd have to make my own 'TT'. |

They started at 5995.00 - lol - and when the 2009 site kicked in they where at 3995 , then at 4695, and now if you check they are at 4795 - lol - gas market is driving them up! EZ |

Buy used. I doubt that you will pay the difference in repairs. As for not being much of a gear head. This is your moment. You buy a bike, get the manual. Start with maintenance. Read this board. Soon your doing your own repairs and one day you realize your a gear head. These bikes are excellent beginner bikes for repairs and maintenance. You will rarely need anything other than basic hand tools and a torque wrench. If you think about it you want to be a gear head. Buy used. Buy some tools. Save tons of money. Indiana and not much of a gear head, impossible. |

I can't build a very strong case one way or the other . . . the Blast is THAT good a bike. I find comfort oft times in buying new. But the Blast has darn little to go wrong with it, it's maladies are well known and easy to handle, their is a huge support community, parts are readily available and the Blast, in addition to being one of the most reliable motorcycles EVER MADE (that's important) is on the heels of the KLR in the "it's good enough that there is no need to change it category". The Blast is a REALLY good bike and a testament to the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" thinking. A good used one or a new one . . . . . you likely can't go wrong. Again . . any questions or if you need to ride one . . . just let me know and I'll get you fixed up. Heck. . . I may even buy one at these prices! |

Anybody besides me notice that the Blast got totally slighted and left out of the brochure for 2009? Its our number one seller with fuel economy being the big point! |

Cityxslicker: Is it completely out of the brochure or just a blurb and/or specs like always? It receives even less mention on the website than I remember too. |

I just cant imagine that there isnt a Buell/HD dealer that wouldnt be willing to send a Blast to Indiana...just to get rid of it. It'd be worth an extra couple hundred to pay for it. (you'd probably spend that much in gas to drive to it and save that much in gas riding it sooner!) |

I just sent both of the dealers near me an email about having a bike transferred. I will let you know what they say tomorrow. |

Quote by Reuel: "You might be able to talk them into getting the white body panels ordered and put on..." Is the white a desirable color or something? I bought my white 2007 model new a couple months ago as a left over. I got even more money knocked off because it was white and considered undesirable and hard to sell by the dealer. Hell the additional $500 that was knocked the already reduced leftover price was well worth the price of a $5 can of Krylon Fusion paint I would need to paint it whatever color I wanted and still put an extra $495 in my pocket. I have not yet repainted but if the white panels are worth something... |

Dye it? What kind of dye would I use? Vinyl upholstery dye? Never knew you could do that but I will certainly look into it. |

its not mentioned, pictured, or spec'd out. It is on the web site though. I would love to get a couple for different flavors. On for a dirty bike DS alternative to the City-X, one for track riding, with full fairing and no lights, and one of cafe moto Thruxton Killin. Damn fun bike |

After seeing the XB12R in white, I think that if I had a bit of extra cash, I just might switch to white. Somehow it looks good in my mind. It would contrast with the black windshield and black foot peg brackets, etc. I'd offer a trade if my black panels were in decent shape. They look really used.
