I have a couple of related to stock exhaust vs. Vance & Hines.

I broke down last night and let my 17 year old son drive my Blast. While he was cruising I could hear him all over the neighborhood. When I took my first ride I thought it was a bit loud for comfort but this just confirms that idea. So here are my questions:

What is involved in going back to stock exhaust from the V & H.

The carb was re-jetted when the V & H were put on. How does that effect the issue. Leave as is? Re-jet back down? Sum other issue I’m not considering?

What does a new muffler cost?

What other issues should I be considering?

Thanks in advance for you input.

PS. Did I tell you I love my Blast?

Going back to stock may not require a rejet. The Blast comes lean from the factory, so if you only went up a little, you might be fine. A little lean robs some power, but you get better mileage. A little rich, and you have more power, but with lower gas mileage. Too much either way is bad. What was the jetting before? Have you considered earplugs?

It came that way from the first owner so I don't have information about the re-jetting. My son is already talking about a Blast for himself. I figure if there are no other issues, we'll just re-jet the one he gets and I'll swap mufflers with him. That is unless a new can is dirt cheap, then' I'll just put a new one on.

Man, that is too weird. It's like we were the same person it another life or something.

I've put all of 30 miles on my Blast in the last week. I love this thing. Riding it is a three ring circus on wheels. I wish I had done this 25 years ago!

That's good to hear. My little baby is pretty peppy and I'd hate to ruin that much.

If you change to the stock exhaust soon you wont notice the power difference. Changing from the stock exhaust is the single, easiest, most effective way to gain more power.
