Exhaust repair kits that use tape and sealer can turn that $20 welding repair into something costing more or even making it impossible. They generally dont work well the closer to the exhaust port you get (and you are close).
An aftermarket exhaust will gain you power and potential mpg.

Oh, now I get it. I never caught the reference to the film. It's very generous for you to be willing to give the exhaust away. I'll peek at UPS and FedEx and see what it would cost to ship from Allen Texas (is that correct?) to Petaluma, California. Thanks a ton for being so generous.

I don't think it would hold up - to close to the port - welding would only cost around 20 bucks - max.

Hey, EZ: I'm looking at that picture of yours with the cone shaped exhaust and it made me think about the mufflers on this old non-running 1978 Honda Hawk I have. It has 2 mufflers and two pipes which I removed today just to look at them. Oddly enough the head of the pipe is the same size as the stock Blast exhaust. It appears that I could just take the pipe and muffler off the Honda Hawk and put it on the Buell. I don't know how similar to your exhaust in the picture it is, but it looks exactly the same. Anybody have any idea how equivalent a 1978 Honda Hawk muffler might be to the Blast? The Hawk has 2 200cc cylinders, each with it's own exhaust pipe. Maybe the muffler isn't designed for a 492cc engine output. I don't know much about back pressure and all that (which is my main concern), but does anyone think this would work? I watched some videos on the net and I like the sound that the muffler makes on the Honda Hawks, but maybe it'll sound totally different on the Buell.

So, did'ja fire up the Blast with the duct tape? I'd like to see a video of that!

It could work, mounting wouldn't be too hard - the question is what is the final OD of the header before it hits the muffler?
It should be at least 1 3/4" - 2" would be even better!

I just bought hopefully pro cams they have grind numbers 1B50 and 2B50,

I have a millinium big bore kit 515 and plan on doing other mods like head work, exhaust, etc,

are these the pro cams and are they drop in or need springs and valves, etc,

I am slowly building a winter bike and need as much power as possible for snow riding.

Yes the Andrew B50 and the Pro-series have almost identical profiles, and are considered the same - generally - the Andrew may be just a tad more aggressive than Buell's Pro-series - but it would only be because of patent rights.

Thanks EZblast do you know the best head for the blast to be sent out to be ported with the 515 big bore kit,

I have the 1125R and the blast is going to be my winter bike for several reasons and I want to be able to ride in the snow,

I was young and did this and if you get the right snow it is awesome to ride in the heavy snow ball making snow,

Also aerostich just started selling custom studs for street to dirt tires and would be good for black ice that got my twice this year,

when riding in deep wet snow it takes power,

my honda xl 350 would only go around 40 mph in the deep snow,

I also miss riding the bike it is down and waiting for a new rear wheel and I could always be shifting the bike and full throttle and with the 1125 I hardly shift out of third gear and never even half throttle.

Revolution Performance can do your head work. B50/ProSeries cams bolt right in, no mods needed.

If you didnt know: the rear swingarm has very little clearance for anything but a stock tire. You may need do to some swingarm mods.

I dont know how the Blast will be in the snow, but offroad (dirt & sand) the front tire just plowed on in. It sucked! I'd consider modifying or swapping out to a bigger front.

PS if you do headwork you can get more lift and more rpms out of those cams without losing much (if any) low end.

Concur - they are the best for reliability and performance! Their are a few other artists who can bring out a tad more power, but they are not as reliable -

General exhaust observation - ending in a 2" header produced the most power for a Blast, the more gentle and less harsh the pipe bend the better the low end as well as general acceleration, and several steps can work better than the straight pipe, and finally if you have the welding skills and a basic pipe bender - your own custom job will probably perform better than 9/10ths of the performance exhausts ever sold.

Thanks Guy's I really want to put the motor in a flat track frame,

if I had the money I would do this and probably will at some point,

I will find out what I need to buy for this project and look on ebay for parts.

I can weld and just put a supertrapp exhaust on the 1125R and used the stock exhaust and cut it off after the chamber that is suppose to reduce noise,

I got the pipe off of ebay and figured it could be tuned for the bike,

I like the 1125R allot and bought it so I could go to race school and do track days, drag race and sport tour,

this bike can get you into trouble fast so I have to drive it easy and can not even get to fourth gear around here,

the blast is fun to ride giving it full throttle and shifting up and down using all the gears is just fun to do.

I grew up with four stroke single cylinder dirt bikes and todays dirt bike are to tall for me,

if I built a flat tracker then I could go off road with it and be a really good winter bike,

I do not own a car so I need two bikes and want the blast for winter riding and for when my 1125R is down for mods,

I am consentrating on the motor first then will think about a frame or suspension,

any idea's are welcome.

The duct tape job actually lasted quite a while. I had a lot on there. Fortunately, it all just slowly burned off and there wasn't any sticky residue left on the pipe. I didn't film any of it... The pipe ended up holding together with just the clamp on there since the crack is kinda jagged, making the two pieces hold together like a puzzle piece. I was impressed. If I had I wider clamp I might just put that on there with some exhaust cement paste and I bet it'd hold just fine. I have no idea how it cracked in the first place because I have never hit anything or struck any major pot holes large enough to cause the whole pipe to crack open. Weird..

As for the Honda muffler, I think it might not work very well since the inner diameter of the muffler where it meets the pipe is 1.5 inches. The pipe is about 1.75in, but with the 1.5in inlet into the muffler it may just be too small. Unless I come up with some better ideas before the other stock muffler arrives, I'm just going to wait and use the stock. I like the look of the Honda on it (as shown identical in the picture from EZ), and it probably sounds good, but I don't want to foul anything up with a diameter that is too small.

Yes they do have a good price. Seems ok from what I could check - remember to use the stock lower mounting hardware - if yours looks old, order new - it would total 5 bucks extra and greatly extend the life of the exhaust. Please note this folks!

I had to ask...I found another company that has a REALLY nice web site with unbelievably low price, but i found some opinions on the net that suggests it may not be wise to deal with them...and since they are in Cali, if I had issue with them...I would be in poor position to do anything about it.

Maybe we should start a vendors thread...so far, I can say that Tires Unlimited is excellent....as is my local harley/Buell shop... if by chance someone needs help with anything related to offroading, especially Jeeps...I have a HUGE list of high quality vendors...(I really like to take one of my Heeps out on occasion and Root up).
