Got a set of Superbike bars today from Chaparral, since those are the bars a lot you guys seem to prefer. Should I drill them when I go to mount my electrics etc? I've seem on here that some folks do while others don't. Thanks for the info.

Don't bother - just a couple times around with duc tape is all you need.

Concur! You'll spend a lot of time and the plastic pins will just sheer off anyway! I've done it both ways and learned from it.
Dont forget to cut or grind the pins off.

I cut off the pins and used electrical tape. Works like a charm and I haven't had any problems with the switchgear moving around either.

First get a manual (preffered). Its not necessary, but might help with questions.

Cover your tank with a towel or something to avoid scratching it.

Buy new grips (well one anyway). The clutch side may come off (I've done it) but it usually has to be cut off. If you try to remove it avoid stabbing yourself (either accidentally or from frustration).

The switches have little locater nubs that fit in holes in the stock bars. You can either drill your new bars (time consuming) or cut the nubs off (if they havent sheared off already-they certainly will over time especially with the new bars). Wrap a little duct tape around the bars (where the hole would've been) to hold the switch in place.

Pay attention to rerouting the clutch cable. You might be able to get away without loosening the cable adjuster, but you still might have too.

Pay attention to how the throttle assembly comes apart. If your lucky you'll be able to get it back on with little fuss. If it comes apart there are locater 'bosses' on the cable fittings with flat sides that mate up.

Check tank to bar clearances before you ride it. The steering may not lock or you might find the tank hitting the horn or (worse)starter button. Adjust the bars accordingly.

Its a fairly easy job, these are just some things you might/will run into.

E-bay or order from one of our dealer sponsors part# 99492-06Y. 06Y is the year,02Y is 2002,04Y is 2004, etc. All manuals will be the same or very close, the dealer will probably send you what they have, e-bay take what you can get.
They're $60 new but Badweb sponsor dealers may give you a discount (ask).

i think im gonna get the super bike bars , but still not sure between them and the clubmans. the clubmans look so cool...

i was also looking at pickin up a vista cruise throttle lock for when my hand goes numb , and with the traction grips ,i just have to decide on what bars i want.

im also not sure if i shouldnt pick up a barsnake to help with vibrations and do that before i put the bars on. rather than take them back off to fix vibrations. do the super bike bars vibrate about the same or less than stock???

i also was brainstorming an easy home made bar filler. fill bars with silicone till about the controls, then a roll/ 1 1/2 roll pennies, a epoxy stop, then my barend mirrors.

clubmans don't fit well on a blast....Supebike bars fit fairly well but not as well as Moose ATV bars. I haven't done the barsnake thing but I did fill a set of Superbikes with sprayfoam which did a pretty good job on vibration but was messy

These are the ones that I have. About the same rise as Superbike bars but with a little less pullback therefore providing better clearance from the tank. And the crossbar isn't really an issue once you take the pad off

hmmmmmmmm,,, black chrome colors, superbike , moose,

took me a week to figure out witch tail bag i wanted.......

still leanin towards the superbike, i like chrome, no moose chrome..the blast doesnt have enough chrome as it is..

and should i take the time to anti vibrate the new set of bars before they go on.. do the superbike or the moose vibrate about the same as stocker. im leanin towards the barsnake.. keep my new barend mirrors rock solid.

I have a set of heavy BMW barends on my bars now and I did notice a really big difference in the vibration or lack there of when I put them on...a snake would probably be a good idea
