What's this sale going on? Is it really only $75 for some PS cams? Thats a mighty fine deal if so.

You're right, I dont see any reference to an updated oil pump (as late as 2005). I'd like to be proved wrong though! Part #?
Or if anybody knows an aftermarket hi-po oil pump that isnt $600!

Gearheaderiko:

BUELL PN 26204-98(before BUELLschitte PART NUMBERING SYSTEM) which were put in BUELL Sportster engines...

Harley-Davidson PN 26204-91A which were put in 2000 model year Sportster engines to date ...

When "i" was in to oil pumps, ZIPPERS made the BEST ... It was similar to -98/-91A with a design to suck the oil out of the heads ... An old Racing trick was to a
fitting in the head and a fiting in the cases and let gravety do it ...

Oil pump is toast! Difficult to say which went first, the pump or the drive gear.

Too bad Gearheadericko, that oil pump drive gear looks just like the one that came out of the Big Kids Blast, It is amazing that it would do that. How is the rest of the engine? Did you buy the bike not running? The Big Kids Blast has a knock coming from the top end of the engine now, probably a wrist pin knock. Anybody have a stock piston they want to get rid of?

Next questions for Ezblast:
1, Can this Cam Installation thread be moved to have its own title under a cam or valve train thread under the "Engine" thread?

2, Can this "Blast Specifics" be move to its own title under Knowledge vault, out from under the engine thread?

3, Can you permanently post the picture of the alignment marks, at the top of the cam section/page like you did with the carb picture?

Thanks

Swampy, I bought the bike running (not well) and the only thing that didnt seem to work was the OIL LIGHT! I think the bottom end is okay as it was so full of oil it still got enough lubrication. If I was going to leave it stock, I'd just throw in a new pump and gear and run it. But since I'm going to pull the head and cylinder to check for damage and dont have much use for a stock engine, I cant see putting a bunch of money into it and run the risk of a few gear chips ruining the engine.
So it looks like a complete teardown is in its future...then who knows....

I do have a spare piston w/rings that came out of a good running Blast with 7900 miles (mine). I'll trade you for a rear engine mount or make me an offer? (sorry, not yet willing to give away parts I may need).

Cams Arrived today along with my newly ceramic coated header. I still need to order the gaskets but the header goes on this weekend along with new tires (AM63's). Now that I have looked at the Cams themselves it actually makes sense how to line up everything. N

I got both gaskets. I'll try the flat on and if it works better cool if not (I've never has issues with the regular gasket) then I'll have the other to use. Gaskets for the Cams ordered and my tires are ready for installation tommorrow

well after some thought, a serious change in my work schedule prior to my trip this summer and a look at the gasket kit that I ordered according to the cam instruction, I decided that since I now have all the gaskets from the case up, I really should change the piston too. So I'm going to continue collecting pieces/parts for the rest of the summer and do my whole top end this fall...10.5 piston, oil pump gear and cams.

sadly once you start collecting speedparts it's becomes apparent that it's more cost effective to do more at once than it is to do a part here a piece there
