Ez, I would concur as well regarding the Bennelli bikes! Also it was just a couple of weeks back that Aprilia announced the Shiver. Don't know if you have seen any images or specs yet but it is a pretty impressive machine! It is 750cc's V90 four stroke with 95HP, fuel injected, liquid cooled, six speed. Weighing in at 416 lbs with a almost 4 gallon tank capacity. I just wish that someone from Buell would seriously listen to their user community and adopt some of the most basic fundamental changes to the P3. Yes - I saw that, however, I'm interested in the Euro singles coming out at less than 300lbs with 50 to 70 hp - that group is being revised and re-introduced into Euro because of demand - perhaps as gas prices soar the interest in performance singles will rise in the US as well. Motorcyclist Mag - August 2007 is the latest, saw the MV in several Euro mags as well, and its well known Ducati has a single in the works for the street as well. Also KTM and Hquavarna, BMW, and others - seem to be gearing up as well. GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

I just wanted to thank Gearheaderiko for generously swapping a good piston and cylinder combination for a clapped out cylinder. The Big Kid and I have been out spending some quality time together the last two nights putting the thing together. The funnyist thing is as soon as The Big Kid walked out of the garage after we disassembled the Yellow Blast early in June, the Little Kid had scarfed up the Kerker and put it on his Blast. This now leaves the Big Kid wondering about what "That guy on the Buell website" did to modify his stock pipe to make it go faster....LOL! | ||

OK weird question, What color is the bad web in your world? When I'm on bad web at home the background color is green, at work it is a much nicer light gray. How can the colors change? | ||

I thought this was a Color Blind society! LOL! Since I missed the color identification test in kindergarten so many years ago, I would guess that there are two colors. The border and back ground I would guess to be a very light gray/green with alternating post bands of green/gray. | ||

Short story to fill in de gaps,was commut. to work @ about 5:15AM when i centerpunched a deer at about 55-60( i live in country in NW Greene Co.Ga.)Had an aftermarket wind screen on,comes to chin,and think thats what took up much of shock.Best visual check says mounts and frame is good but will have it Pro.checked. Anyway, need a key switch assy.?maybe after market? headlight bucket and lite with elect.hookup ithink, and speedo assy.and hookup. Right side peg assy. is bent and pegs are trash but might get after market pegs.Tankcover has some roadrash,as well as i,but might keep as reminder. As for myself, a little roadrash on rt. knee and shin and on back of hands, hole on lt. l'bo,no breaks.Angels were with me. Leather Maverick Jacket helped a Lot. Wow Ron, sorry to hear that! Good to hear that YOU came out of this OK though. Are you going to have some venison sausage made out of it? It's getting towards fall here in MN, and you can see the deer peeking out of the shrubs and woods everywhere along the highways. This time of year I ride pretty cautiously and pay a lot of attention to the ditches and shoulders. Damn things are so unpredictable, just when you think you have avoided them they'll turn and jump right back in your path. Or one gets by you but others are lined up on the other side of the road to try their luck. | ||

LOL, cell phone! - Bhawk glad you are ok. Deer hang on the highways on my commute as well, mostly just as it gets dark. There have been a couple of times I have had to slow down and honk while in my truck. As long as I have been here in Birmingham, I've never seen really large deer, like up north. Most that I see are like big dogs with horns. Never the less they will still damage your vehicle, and are dumb as rocks. Remember that ole joke about that elusive deer. All the bullets are too fast 3200 fps, hell slow that bullet down to 55 and put on a head light and horn and deer will be jumping out in front of it! Great joke! I don't mean to be negative on these but has anyone shown these whistlers to work? Have they improved since the early late 80's early 90's? I ask because those were a big deal for a while here in Minnesota, just about everyone had one, a couple of my friends still filled their freezers with venison using a Ramcharger and a 69 R/T SE charger as ammunition. The whistler from the Ramcharger was lodged in the deer's leg. Maybe they plug up with bugs and road dirt or something. Anyway I wouldn't let my guard down after I installed one. | ||

A There's no solid scientific evidence that the devices actually reduce deer crashes. The theory is that air passing through the whistles as the car moves will scare deer away from the road. The little research available on their effectiveness is mostly anecdotal and the results are contradictory, according to deercrash.com, a clearinghouse for deer and vehicle crash information. More research is needed. To avoid hitting a deer, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources recommends you lay on your horn and slow down. The noise will scare the deer, and as you slow down it will have more time to get away. If you see one deer, watch for others; they frequently move in groups. In addition: • Be especially alert at dawn and dusk, when deer tend to travel. • Deer eyes reflect light. Watch for them along roadways and in ditches. • Always assume the deer will run into the road rather than away from it. • Use headlights on high beam whenever possible to increase your range of vision. • Wear your seat belt and drive the speed limit. If a crash is inevitable: • Stay in your lane, keep two hands on the wheel and brace for the collision. • Do not swerve out of your lane to avoid hitting a deer. Slowhand96 good point, I use them, and I have still seen deer, they seem to run from the road, maybe my lights spook them. I guess there is no way I can say they prevent an accident. Heck the deer may hear it and run from the side of the road into it! They do get dirty, and you have to clean them, per the instruction manual. I usually remember to do so when I start to see them. I haven't yet this year; mid October is when I normally start to see them. I haven't put one on my bike yet. I gave up on trying to fix my starting problem myself, and put it in the shop. Shops all over town are swamped, but I hope to have it back in a couple of weeks. | ||

I saw a couple in DOWN TOWN St.Paul already. The river (Mississippi) is close by and they wander into the city from the river bottoms. You aren't safe from them anywhere up here. The dang things get mesmerized by your lights, hence "shining deer". I've seen one freeze in my lights, run back to the shoulder, then bolt back onto the road and run WITH my Roadking only to zig (zag?) in front of me to the ditch on the other side of the road. They must have brains the size of peas, or maybe they are playing a game like deer "fear factor". |
