Geareaderiko,
Didn't see you here till now, you posted while I was typing(slowly). I think I was confused about another spec. I've got that craftsman, and was trying to cypher out the NM scale to drop below the bottom of the range, but I was not sure whether to trust it that low or not, it almost seems like you could put a 24" bar on it and blow on it real hard. I had just bought the next size up T wrench, and was hating to go hunt a smaller one. Thanks for letting me know thats safe to do that way.
I haven't adjusted it since we've had it, but will now, one method or the other, anxious to see what happens.
I'm thinking, maybe, we're just getting more comfortable with the bike and expecting a bit too much. I'm bad about trying to shift faster than me or the shiftee is capable of shifting. Learned a lot about replacing rod bearings in big block chevys years ago because of that.
Thanks, Ed

I compared it to 2 small inch lb torque wrenches to be sure.

Most - including moi - recommend a few extra flats out from the manuals recommendation.

EZ
I've done my research, searched the knowledge vault, and all of badweb, the dictionary, encyclopedia and the internet. The best information I can come up with indicates that a "few" falls somewhere in between a "couple" and "several"
I hope I've got that figured out. Of course, sometimes when you get over the Mississippi and beyond the Rockies, precision measurements could vary somewhat, but probably close enough.
Thanks folks

Sorry - not a shot, its just that the V-twin 250cc Cruiser-style bikes are not known for speed - will that puppy go freeways?

VEEEERY CUTE!@

Now think of this:

Drag bars, lower the front, lower the rear rear sets(use the rear pegs, they are mounted on the frame), cafe seat.......

I want to try one. It looks like fun.

it actually pulls pretty well. I have had it over 75 and it wasn't done. video on youtube shows one going past the 85 mph speedo around 90 or 95 it looks like. it is so darn comfy to ride it's ridiculous! I agree on the drag bars but I think forward controls and a shorty sissy bar would be nice.

I should add that I could run circles around it on my blast. but she needs something without power. she's really not confident at all. never ridden anything before this.

Thanks for the torque stack tip. I guess they don't make a short stack? Has anyone measured the outer circumference of the torque stack?

Then you need to contact American Sport Bike and get the fork brace - otherwise your front and rear will have a race to the finish line the first time you brake on a wet road - lol -
Kuryakyn makes a CV carb spacer that is smaller, but also very pricey - outer circum. is roughly 3 1/2".

I just contacted Al at American Sport Bike and asked him to add the torque spacer to my standing order. I'm waiting on aluminum pegs for the Banke rearsets that came with the bike NIB...yeah...I know...DROOL... : D

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had any tips on starting a blast in cold weather? I am running Mobil 1 synth. 15/50 top and bottom (copying ezblast) everything else on the 2002 blast is stock. Changing spark plug? Keeping battery on charger? Please let me know if you guys have any tips. Mornings in Michigan can be cold. Thanks guys!

well for most of the winter I ran 10/40 oil and Vtwin in the primary. I rode all winter long down to about 10 degrees. I also rejet but that's a different issue and not as related

PROGRESS REPORT
Today: April 10 2007
The Blast, that was meant to be in excellent running condition before that Badness thing, whichever weekend that was, FINALLY made it to the road today. I have still not managed a test ride, but Becky got it out for a little while today, she reported it is running great, shifting MUCH better and she really likes her new tires. All good news.

Now, the really good news:

Persimmon seems to work just fine.

The best news:
Though I know the results from my endeavors
are primarily the results of the fantastic coaching from you guys in Thumper section,
I think I may have Beck convinced to continue the persimmon tree thing every Saturday night, you know, to keep everything in tune and perfect balance, at least I'm trying.
Thanks again folks
Rotzaruck!!!!(thats what she said)

Ask any 'possum, they'll tell you a persimmon tree is the one with the persimmons on, and all around, it. They love 'em, eat a belly full and walk real slow partway across the nearest highway. If they are not quite ripe, they make you pucker up something awful, but ripe(according to my Dad, after the first frost), they are sweet and good. Maybe somewhere in between sweet taters and butternut squash. There is also something kind of mystical about persimmon trees.

I have a friend from Michigan rebuilding his girlfriends house in Tennessee, he has been bugging me about coming down to hang out with him, as tempting as it sounds, I know I will get dragged into helping out.

My cold weather starting tips are mostly from my Sportster days as the Blast has never seen continued cold weather:
Keep it on a battery charger at night (Battery Tender type charger is best). Definitely make sure the battery is good.
If you ride it every day, cover the engine area with a heavy blanket (remember 'car' blankets?) at night, immediately after shutting it off.
Get a block heater. (I've never tried it, but others I know have and it could go on the frame -aka oil tank-).
Unplug the headlight. That way if you're only getting a few cranks, the battery will last longer and the ignition gets full juice.
Keep it inside!
