where the heck does this bolt go?!?!?! it looks to be a 5/16 bolt, about 3 inches, grade 8. had no nut for it, and no washers. any ideas? | ||

Hey - Does a 2000 Blast have a vacuum line attached to the fuel petcock? Mine won't start after putting it all back together after replacing the rocker pan gasket...thanks. | ||

Welcome to the board 129cbrider! To answer your question....no. There is a vent line attached to the fuel tank up by the fuel cap. Start easy in your diagnosis, spark? fuel? compression? Let us know, good luck! | ||

Hey guys, just poppin' in from the XB board to see what's up on this side of the forum! I have to say, I like all these custom Blasts. I wouldn't mind having one as a project bike, but all my money is still going toward my XB12Ss right now! I actually looked at the Blast before I looked at the XBs, but they're so low to the ground, and I'm 6', I think it looked a little odd on me. Very comfy though. I think if I had one I'd have to swap the rear tire for something larger, and chop off the whole seat section... that's probably my least favorite stock component. Maybe come up with something more like the pic below. But there again, my $$$ is all tied up in the one I've already got!  ~SM | ||

Hey, another quick question. These fairing from Fly N Cycle... I notice their bulbs are pretty low power at only 35W. How well does that work on the highway? Seems like it would be dim... people are always complaining about the 45-50 watters on the Lightnings! Anyone had any problems out of them? Thanks! ~SM | ||

Run all at once as I do is 80 watts - aimed light - I like it, it works well in the fog - maybe I'm just use to it, Scott says its as bright as his 70watt Hella that he runs (from an older BMW car model - plugs right in - lol) - GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

I was poking around at revperf's web site yesterday, and noticed that there were different sized primary sprockets for sale. If you pushed the power of your Blast up to 50hp or so, and increased the rev limit to 7500rpm, how fast could you get this thing to go with a bigger sprocket? Just something to think about. Another think I had was to put flash bulbs in my front turn signals and wire them into the horn switch. That way, that stupid f&$k in the pickup just might take notice next time he makes a right turn from the left lane, and I happen to be in his way. Maybe a rocket launcher would be good, too.  Does anybody have the link to the online service manual? I can't find mine... | ||

Joey: Motor Sprocket:0EM BLAST 34T .. OEM XB12 38T PN 40290-04 .. High Beam Flash Switch: right handlebar behind dimmer switch ... The way this is used is to run on low beam and when vechicles ahead(right or left) could pull out in front of you or turn in front of you, start FLASHING YOUR HIGH BEAM ... The low beam stays on and makes for a brighter light ... This SAVE YOUR ARSE helpfull SAFTY HINT is not tought in RIDERS EDGE COURSE or any other rider safty class that "i" know of ... The switch is a great idea, but I recommend holding it steady rather than flashing it....too many cages use the flashing front headlights as a sign to "go ahead." I just hold it bright and steady and try to burn out their retinas. | ||

hello everyone, i'm new here and i am still figuring out how to use this site, anyhow, ihave purchased an 06 and i have been making minor mods to this bike ever since. i have some cool diamond plate looking aluminum and i am going to make some rearsets. i thought i'd ask if anyone has some used ones for sale. i could not find any on the classified section. i must be honest, my tech skills are shall we say entry level.  | ||

The amount of time I had to react would have left me with maybe 3 flashes. I've always joked about getting aircraft lights on the back of my Jeep for tailgaters. I want to link something in with the horn, as I ride with my high beams. Seems I get a lot fewer people trying to run me over when I just leave them on high. If I have a flash tube, as long as it's not blue I should be legal. There's enough room in the turn signal to put in a small flash tube. My manual is tucked away somewhere. I just wanted to read the part on removing and reinstalling the front brake caliper. I don't know how that would be a favor to everyone else, and my Blast isn't for sale.  I can't remember what parts should not be reused so I can order them when I call OCHD tonight. I'll go look in my Jeep and see if I can find it. Be right back... Absolutely! This was a case of being to the right of someone who decided to turn right from the left lane. I'm going to practice stoppies once I get everything back together. Had I just squeezed my brakes for all they were worth without squeezing too much, I may have been able to stop instead of going off the road. It's just as likely his trailer would have hit my left side somewhere, since he was braking for his turn. He felt pretty bad, saying he couldn't believe he'd do such a thing, but then later tried to say he didn't believe he had. Now, I'm fine, and my Blast will be fixed, so I can't complain. God was just saying, "don't get complacent!" | ||

Welcome P3Newbie, Blasts are wonderful things. Regarding lights and horns and things, Buellistic is right. We have to rely on our skills more than gadgets. I had dual airhorns on my Gold Wing had a nut pull a turn like what happened to Joey -- apparently Wal-Mart had a sale to die for -- and I hit the horns. He panicked and slammed on the brakes and actually swerved INTO MY LANE. I practice panic stops all the time and I'm glad...my front tire gave a country club kiss to his fenderwell. No one got hurt but I picked the wrong day to give up smoking. | ||

Crossroads makes a sportster frame adapter kit, and if you look in the Blast (Chopper) Picture section you'll see two different companies have one as well! - lol GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

On the old new fairing I had to wire in a set of lights (the stock ones sucked) - an H3 and H5 bulb in tandem for some nice bright lighting, however, the only decent thing was the signals - the flush mounts which will go to the rear signal position - lol - it was a British piece and not well made, however, the Demon piece is Italian and though a knock off of the Acerbis has several features that make it nice - the two main bulbs put out 5 more watts of power total than the Acerbis's 3 lights and it also has built in signals - very nice - pics to come this weekend. I am very happy with its looks - it survived its morning test run in the rain and fog admirably and can be mounted with Acerbis's mounting system - which is rubber and much more vibration absorbent friendly - skipping their hard heavy brackets - lol  GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||
