Sounds like you need a Harbor freight fold up trailer! I had the best hope for you finding a good dealer. But just like after taking my bike in to the dealer I had bought my Blast from for the 1000 mile service and also asking it to be cleaned (I asked, but thought it would have been done anyway) it was filthy (dirtier than when I dropped it off) when I picked it up! They had even called me before I picked up my new bike and told me I was getting a Buell t-shirt and an HD t-shirt. The Buell shirt was lost and never found and never received! Orange County HD/San Juan Capistrano HD-no longer a Buell dealer Needless to say when I dropped $18K cash on a new HD, I did it at the HD/Buell dealer that had treated me like a king when I bought my Blast there just for a dyno run! (Glendale HD/Buell)} Dealers are obviously a sore subject for Buell enthusiasts. | ||

well right now im in the process of buying a 2003 buell blast with 2100 miles and broken front blinkers . what should I be looking for, as potential problems? I already own a 2005 xb9sx and I am buying this bike to ride\work on while im working on the other one . Sugestions? | ||

Newby here with a 06. Want to put bar end mirrors on. Are those just plugs in the end of the bars that can be pried out and above someone was mentioning screwed on timing cover replacement. Have any specifics as to which one or part number. Have put 2400 on this thing in a month and a half. Just love it! Darn weather is closing in though. Cheers.... | ||

Are you worried about cosmetics? Looking for a little discount because its a downed bike? If the turn signals are broken I'd check the flyscreen mounts for bends. Also check out the plastic tail piece and how it fits. See if it lines up properly, or is there a tweak to it when you look at it from behind? Both are telltale signs of a dropped bike indicating that the forks may be bent (slightly) and the rear subframe bent. Still not much can go wrong if its dropped, even if dumped hard, but I dont know if the above items are important to you. | ||

Concur! That or my intake - or perhaps the small Ram-Flo - those are all more reliable than the Pro-Series - which needs serious support. GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

Pro Series are about $100. You can get just the elbow for less than $40 and add your own filter or use the American Sport Bike velocity stack $13 and minimal filter screen (Outerwears $6-$12)-EZ's set up. The carb should be supported if you use anything but the stock airbox. However, many have used the Pro Series intake as it came out of the box, without any additional support. I do think you'll get much more satisfaction by buying the Corbin though. | ||

Yes - I use the dirt track method for both carbs - auto-carb spring on each side of the carb attaching to the head for even support. GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

Fresno Resolved! Bobby is a very good Service Mngr. - I say this in sincerity, not because of what he did, but because of his attitude - that which tells a person - I want to make this right! That is how you create a positive customer service reaction for 99% of your customers and how you keep customers comming back, even if for no more than to say hi and kick tires a bit. Its called building customer loyalty, and he does a great job of that - as witnessed by our last conversation. Though unlikely to go to Fresno in the near future, I am left with a change of heart and the satisfaction of knowing that good dealerships do exist in Cali, even if hard to find - they are out there and Fresno HD/Buell is one of them. We came to the agreement that an hr would be refunded to me, and that I should have been informed when the decision making part came into play. Hey guys how is every body, its been a while... I have put 2500 miles on my bike since MAY 06' and come here to address questoins. Anyway, the cold weather months are here and I wanted to know some tips on cold weather starts/maintenece. No weather is too cold for me, though the bike might think otherwise. Oh yeah, I got my M class teh other day. w00t!! I'm 17 and have a bike....now to ride to school and work hahaha. ---- the doc | ||

When the weather gets cold enough (usually below freezing) you may only get one shot at starting your bike.With that in mind: Buy a battery tender junior. It comes with a permanent hookup for your bike so you can plug it in without pulling anything apart (it also doubles as an Aerostitch electric vest hook up!).If the bike is going to sit unused for more than 24 hours, plug it in. Keep a good battery in the bike. Learn where your headlight unplugs. Its a simple plug in the wiring. Unplugging the headlight will give you a little more juice. Covering your bike (engine) at night with a heavy blanket will help keep some of the heat in and make it easier to start. If its sits for more than 12 hours though the blanket wont help much. Be careful it doesnt rest on a hot exhaust! A block heater can also help if you can find a safe place to hook it up. Park it in the sun when possible during the day while at school/work. Being that your 17 with possibly limited funds, you may have to pick and choose what will work for you. |
