The thread is 10 milimeter. It is a common size to other motorcycles, and most Japanese motorcycles. Both threads are the same, there is no Right or left specific mirror on the Blast. James | ||

BTW almost all Yamaha mirrors are r/l specific so those are to be avoided. | ||

TIRES, TIRES, TIRES!!! Does anyone know the max sized tires a Blast will hold? I had a Kawasaki ZX7R with a 190 Battleaxe on the back and loved it. How big can I go on the front and rear??? Thanks! | ||

wait wait wait...oh yes well 100/80 front and 120/80 rear are stock and until recently the only tires that would fit regardless of the brand. Avon recently released the Viperstryke in the stock size and 140/70-16 and 110/70-16 EZ is riding/reviewing them. I'm gonna try them out in September when I return from a business trip (and have money to spend) | ||

EZ, the track is Putnam Park just west of Indy. Who had the picture of the dirt track blast with the C&J frame? I really liked that one. Wonder how time, effort and money that would take. | ||

Wide tires: How much modification do you want to do? I've seen 120 in the front and 150 in the rear (stock rims). Both are limited by the width of the swingarm. Easily measured. The rear will need some swingarm modifications. Both front and rear stock rims probably cant safely handle more than a 120/140 combo. Check out the "Big wheel Blast" thread. I think I've seen 180's with a modified swingarm (length only). | ||

Finally completed my first mod! Got some micro-spear turn signals off ebay. Fronts I just mounted up, rears I mounted in the tie-down tabs and chopped up the taillight mount to only hold the light and enough for the plate (which may be moved to the brake caliper later) I'll get some pics up tomorrow or so. Next on, air box removal, drag bars and mirrors. | ||

C&J frame is about 3,000, body work 700, fr & rr suspension 500 to 1000, chain conversion 300 to 500, the rest would be up to your mods - definately would be a cool custom street bike - not really too much liter than a stripped down & modified Blast though - effort - keep you busy for a while - lol GT - JBOTDS! hey guys, My rear wheel started having a clicking sound when I'm riding, and even coasting with the engine off. Sounds like it's coming from the right side. Replaced bearings a few months ago (way before this problem), and they went in without damage. The clicks are rhythmic and dependent on my speed, but aren't in sync with 1 wheel revolution. Maybe 2 clicks per revolution, maybe slightly more. I can't for the life of me figure out what's hitting what, but I'm afraid to ride it for now. Any suggestions? | ||

thanks to those who recommended drag style handlebars. i got them in today and mounted them up (while drinking a post-work beer i might add)and they look great! also, anyone who wants a quick mod to make those turn signals on the front look better(the ones that stick out three feet on either side). the black plastic brackets that hold the turn signals on the windshield are two seperate peices. take the peice that is closest to the windscreen, and move it to the inside of the windscreen (seperate the nut that holds it on and the windscreen with it). nothing really special, but it gives it a much cleaner, aerodynamic look. | ||

One more thing.......... The exhaust on the Little Kids Red Blast completely broke at the point where it joins at the muffler. I had to take it off and have it welded, as school is out and he hasn't been able to beat any class mates up for lunch money to buy an aftermarket. As I was looking the bike over I found that the front fender was actually on backwards, SO....conclusive proof that putting the fender on backwards will generate BAD MOJO! When the pipe cracked the rocker box gasket also started leaking! I don't know who was asking about it a couple of weeks ago but DON'T DO IT! RESIST THE TEMPTATION! | ||

Swampy: Its okay to put the front fender on backwards but afterwards you must throw salt over your shoulder, say 5 hail Marys, and hold your breath as you dance naked around the big oak tree 13 times. You obviously didnt do this. | ||

The Blast uses sealed wheel bearings and require 'no maintenance' except replacement. | ||

When the pipe cracked the rocker box gasket also started leaking! My exhaust also broke in two when the rocker box was leaking. I believe it is thermal stress from the oil leakage rather than mojo. Still salt over the shoulder never hurts. Sealed bearings, no grease. That's no buellschitte. Of course, whatever makes you happy is key. Lithium may help, too. | ||

I'll try... a cut away exposes "layers" of the machine so you can essentially see through the bike to see how the parts fit in relation to each other. An exploded view is typically seen in parts manuals showing the machine disassembled but still in relative orientation. Thanks. | ||
