I have an oil problem in a 2002 blast. while it is driving down the road it will puke oil into the breather and lose power. The bike had set up since November. Is there a vent line somewhere that is possible clogged? Anyone experience this problem. Please help...the dealership is lost!

It could be that it has too much oil in it. Or that some water has accumulated in the oil since it has been sitting in storage, and is boiling out now, carrying the oil with it. Have you drained the "catch tube" behind the left side passenger peg?

Your vent from the head may not be seated squarely, or a partial clog in the vent hole for oil in the head may be partially clogged, thus venting more oil - the loss of power may be the tank fuel vent & line either being partially clogged, kinked, or cut. Note - Hootowl also has good points.

Concur with the oil overfill. Considering that it will barely take 1 3/4 qts at an oil change and can read very low when cold, (and dealers unfamiliarity with Blasts), I would definitely start there.
Drain the oil, then start over fresh with 1 1/2 qts and go from there. Then check the lines as EZ said.

the catch tube had been drained, and changing the oil this weekend... maybe that will clear it up. all of the vent lines have been checked and none were clogged that could be found unless anyone knows of any hidden vents anywhere. It may also have too much oil but if it does then the dealership put too much in it. Thanks for the input.

I've got an on going clutch cover leak.(Or weep I should say)It usually appears as wetness around the bottom of the cover from the left bolt to the right after a ride. The longer the ride,the wetter it gets & usually ends up trailing down on really long rides.Of course I clean it up in between rides to check how bad it is.
I've even pointed this out to the dealer & told them to make sure to use a new gasket when changing the trans lube,but same "weep" appears each time & even with different lubes & different dealers!
Is this just normal for these bikes? I've noticed some on the sales floor that appear to have the same prob.If it were the simple to deal with top end that would be one thing,but you guys know the bottom barely holds anything & is not easy to check or fill.(With the stock pegs & no stand of course).
Have I just gotten spoiled from numerous jap bikes in the past? Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks.

Old style cover w/ new gasket - won't work - need both new gasket and cover and torque to spec.

FL Rider,

Mide doesn't do what you describe afer 41,000+ miles (and I've never replaced the gasket with trans lube changes). I did however, upgrade the cover. If you have the plastic cover with the all rubber gasket, you need to get the new style metal cover with the laminated rubber/metal sandwich gasket.

I'll see about getting the part numbers when I get home.

Thanks,I would appreciate it.It seems like one of these dealers would have said something about this. One in fact claims to be the largest Buell dealer in central Florida! (Sigh.)
