I've never had to replace a Nose Landing gear axle. Although they do go through a fair share of bushings. |

Those single sided forks& axles look scary as hell to me!

Probably the current factory would get them through another couple of years. That would have been the game plan while the new one was being built anyway.
Money solves most business problems. The buyer puts up a cash bond to cover all liabilities as part of the deal. If they don't make it, liabilities revert back to the seller who uses the bond to pay things off. If the buyer makes it, they get the mature bond and everybody's happy. |

If you only allowed Harleys to be sold at Vespa dealers, Harley wouldn't have sold many bikes either.
Let Buells sit alongside Japanese and Italian sport bikes and they will get plenty of takers. As I said in another post, in my area, a sport bike rider will typically go to Coleman Powersports and be able to see Ducati, Aprilia, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha. Not a lot of them went into Harley Dealers looking for their next sport bike.
The basic problem was that Harley was never interested in selling Buells. They just wanted Buells to get younger customers into Harley dealers, hoping to sell Harleys to them then, or in the future. Putting the Buells out there in the free market at non-Harley dealers would have not served their (evil) purposes at all. |

I never had a problem with Buells being sold at Harley dealers, but if someone comes in wanting to look at a Buell sell him a damn Buell treat him wright and when he thinks he wants a touring bike you might be first in line for a bike sale. I still to this day don't think that the theory was bad but the execution left something to be desired. |

I started working at High Country H-D/B a year and a half ago at the parts counter.
Been in Engineering for 30 years, riding for the same time.
Mostly Harleys and British until a 2003 XB9R yanked my heart in 2004.
The shop I work at LOVES Buells almost to a T.
We ride them, sell them, race them, service them.
A couple of the techs grumble, but they are pros and do excellent work on anything they touch.
I have NO problem with ANY one of them working on Loretta.
If all dealerships were like this one, Buell would have FLOURISHED.
We will continue as an "Authorized Service Center".

Zac and 46champ, you guys have nailed it. Period and case closed. You can bet if Buell returns, that original HD type of thinking WILL change to what you have said and this time they WILL flourish. Bob |
