I must ride like a wuss. Get about 7.5K on a rear Scorp. Sync and twice that on front. (On a 12R commuting 70 mile round trip to work)
I would imagine I'll see the same on the 12X unless I find some good dirt riding in between |

How much tread on the scorp.sync should I go down to? I am on the wear bar now still handling well keeping in mind to be more careful in the wet. |

You should replace it once you hit the wearbars, so i recommend you do it soon. Brakes and Tires are the 2 things you should never cheap out on, so replace it before a bald tire bites you in the ass. |

D616- great rain tire, good grip on dry roads, surprisingly good in dirt, HATE THE WOBBLE!! 5000 miles and still look good. Don't know if I will go with the Pirellis or just deal with the wobble. Tried many suspension settings and can't get rid of it. Maybe try to keep it under 90 MPH(thats where the wobble starts). |

M2nc is on the key between widely varying mileage on the same tires - LOCATION.
I remember reading an article on a rental outfit in New Zealand. They said they had to change tires somewhere around 2500 miles (IIRC), as the pavement used in the area was crazy abrasive (but OH what grip!).
I suspect location, and temperature, account for most of the wide range of miles between similar types of riders on the same bike.
Of course, wearing out a tire in the center only is also due to location. I am so glad to finally live somewhere that I can wear out an entire tire from side to side without having to go to the track!
My stats:
D616 rear - shot at 4k miles in Florida
Sync rear - still good at 4.5k, with at most another 1k life left on it.
D616 front - still on at 8.5k, but very feathered on the leading edge and starting to cause some light vibes/wobble. More worn at 45deg than in the center. Probably due to my bad habit of braking well into the corner apex. I am trying to break the habit before it breaks me.
I replace the set next spring, probably with Syncs. Not a big Dunlop fan, and I have never had a set of Pirellis that I did not like. |

God help me, I think I might buy another Avon Storm rear tire. When I bought the one I have on the bike now, I expected the dual compound to provide me with more mileage than the stock Dunlop, but it really didn't. What I'm beginning to appreciate, though, is that the tire is still round even though the middle is worn out. When the Dunlops wore out on my old M2, I got a bad table top effect where I really had to push the bike to make it lean over. In contrast, the Uly still feels very responsive, even at the end of the Avon's life. I only wish the front Avon wasn't so dodgy. |

Well now I'm a little stuck because it seems nobody can get rear Syncs locally because they're backordered for at least two weeks, and I need a new rear tire yesterday!
Just got back from a spirited ride with my new front Sync, man I love these tires.
My dilemma is this, rear 616's and Diablo Stradas are plentiful around here.
Do I go back to a 616 for now with a new Sync up front or try the Strada with the Sync? |

I put a new 616 on the rear to go with the Pirelli Synch on the front.

7,500 on a Sync used mostly for commuting sounds real good, but not wuss-level. On another thread a guy was complaining he only had 6,000 miles. Sounds like the guy who ate a loaf of bread worth of sandwiches and then said he didn't really care for the lunch meat.
I got 6,633 miles out of my Pirelli Sync tires, including a fair amount of off-road and a dozen 1/4-mile trips down Bandimere Dragway one hot August night.
For off-road enhancement I just put on Avon Distanzias and love them for their more aggressive grip without really missing a beat so far on the street. Of course with gravel and sand about from snows, I have not pushed the street cornering like in July & August.
