Ferris: Keep us posted on the schedule and good luck. If I can make it to Appleton from Michigan to meet you I'd consider it an honor. Besides, you promised me a story about your S2 over a drink sometime. Tom Kern |

Hi Ferris, Angeles Crest means Newcomb's Ranch!! Geez, you may even have to hit the Lookout on Ortega highway coming back from the desert. The ride looks great. Or should I say epic? I'll definitely hook up with you at the Rock Store for the ride to Santa Barbara. We may even have time to sample some of the local pavement and biker hangouts along the way. Looking forward to it. Jeff, You've gotta take him to the place I was at with you and Tripper. Gas station in front, BBQ joint in the middle and a liquor store in the back. Now that is my kind of joint. And Ferris, I'll warn ya, Jeff will lure you in with enough great food and Boulevard Pale Ale you'll want to stay an extra day (I did). Jeff, Thanks again for your hospitality. I've got to make it down there again soon! (or you guys can come up here) |

M1Combat, I-70 from Grand Junction to Joseph, UT and then south on 89? if we're making good time we can go thru Zion NP to get to 15, if not we can cut over on 14 to Cedar City. from there, I-15 into Nevada. if we have the time, we could do Valley of Fire SP in Nevada on our way into Vegas -- Mouse's Tank is one of the coolest roads i've ever ridden. FMJ, sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. looking forward to hearing some stories from the salt, hope you fly like the wind my friend. ride to lean. ride to roost. ride to ride. Ferris ps: what Bartimus said. |

I just got off the phone with Sir Jerry, Buell Knight (even though currently Buell-less), Wordsmith Extraordinaire and now . . ."Lighter of Fires (under the slabby butt of this peripheral BWB, stealth mode, ex-Buell ownering, AARP card carrying, gray haired, pot bellied and entitled to snarliness type.) I have been watching the evolution of Jerry's inspired concept, and joined the "why didn't I have the imagination, intelligence, insight and energy to think of this first" group. At the same time my interest has been piqued with snowballing positive reviews of the new Buell offering. I am beginning to believe once again . . .I might not have been ABANDONED by HD/BMC after all! I still have deep concerns about the Buells lingering from my misguided leap of faith onto my S3T - the now parted out and sent to the corners of the earth Buell formerly known as Roz. My watch word, born in past experience, has been Wait until the real world rider feedback comes in . . Right on cue, Jerry steps up to take on the challenge. I am, by virtue of the previously mentioned conflagration under my backside, planning on joining up with the endeavor as it passes through Colorado. My plan at this point is to meet up with Jerry and his entourage at the Colorado/Kansas border and follow along through Colorado and on to the Colorado/Utah state line. I will, regrettably (my only current bike is very much locked in an eternal project bike mode), be participating from the cab of my F350. I look forward to meeting with, coordinating itineraries and renewing friendships with any and all Buellists that share my interest and enthusiasm for Jerrys ride. I still maintain that without regard for my feelings about the HD/BMC organization it has always been my fellow Buellers/BWB contacts that kept me fighting the good fight and enduring the challenges Buell ownership presented. FMJ, this project has instantly turned into a full-time job, not only for me but for BADWEB'ers across the country who are helping put each leg together. that said, we'll be posting details of each day of the ride as they are inked. so far we've got Court Canfield, Dave Stueve from Appleton H-D/Buell, Alex Prior, Bob LaMear (Racerboy), Jeff Griswold (Thunder), Don Casto, Patrick Duffey (Chainsaw), Travis Scott (TBear), Mike Bugby (Littlebuggles), Eric Barrows (EBear), Al and Joanne Lighton from American Sport Bike, Darryl Salmon (Sparky), and Jim Ciontea (Jim _sb) helping to organize the ride. as we get the specifics worked out we'll post the day-by-day stuff in as much detail as we can. we're workin' on it! Don S: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EBear, Al from American Sport Bike and Sparky are the guys you wanna talk to. on Sat morning 9/10 we'll be meeting up very early up on Angeles Crest, and ending the day with the Buelling Man celebration at Ocotillo Wells, via Rim of the World, Big Bear, Idyllwild, Harrison Grade and Mt. Palomar. you MUST be there! Don C, i am *nearly* sans speech. your eloquence, as usual, has reduced me to lowly scribe and grateful humble servant. VERY glad to have you aboard, and amped for the opportunity to hang with you again after all these years. see you soon! FB (Message edited by jerry_haughton on August 03, 2005) |
