There's really no point to a Supermoto bike on Ohio. Or many other states Those bikes are canyon carvers that don't do well on highways and are not comfortable for long distances generally. Same with these Mono GP bikes, which is why I don't think they'll sell well. |

Heck - you can say that about the S-1 - lol - let alone the Blast as well - I'm sure Sargent or Corbin could help rectify that little detail. Try again? GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

A single cylinder? that's almost "Un American" isn't it? that's something those damn furriners do. You'll have two, you always have had & why should you change now? damn europeans with 1s & 3s & Japs with 4s. Anyway if you've 2 & 1 craps out there's still one left to get you out of trouble.

I'm not sure if you guys have ever owned a performance dirt bike before. Those that have will know that you spend just as much time maintaining them as you do riding them. You will also ride it differently on the street than you would in the dirt. A dirt bike spends little time at high rpms. They're designed for very quick bursts of power, not being ridden at a constant high rpm over the road. A road version engine would have to be completely redesigned to take the constant rpms and be reliable. The CRF450X I own is nowhere near as high strung as the R model (39 RWHP to 48-50 RWHP) these 450 racers are based off of. Once you buy one and realize that you're rebuilding the top end every hundred miles or so of street duty, the novelty will wear off. In competition riding, there is a tremendous amount of wrenching to be done and I hope you have the many hours of time necessary to keep it running well...and stock in the oil biz...I'm talking lots of fluids changing. That said, those machines look like a ton of fun. |

I did see the supermoto guys talking on the web about constant oil changes are the key to getting any real life out of the motor if your using it on the street. |

I'd love to take a DRZ450SM, and build one of these. I'd be a little ripper in the hills! A buddy of mine had a DRZ450SM. I had the displeasure of riding it. That was among the most miserable motorcycles to ride on the street I had ever ridden. I know you'd be changing the seating position, but the things just had no power. You could tell the motor was screaming like hell only because it buzzed everywhere, but you coudln't hear a whisper from the muffler. And forget about trying to ride aggressively - it just didn't go. Turns out he didn't love it as much as he thought either, and after less than one season and only 1700 miles he sold it. And this is a guy who rides a lot, he just always would have rather taken out another bike. |

Quote from others... "There's really no point to a Supermoto bike on Ohio." "Or many other states" "Those bikes are canyon carvers that don't do well on highways and are not comfortable for long distances generally. Same with these Mono GP bikes, which is why I don't think they'll sell well." Thus the reason Buell won't make a fireblast, which is something I've been wanting for a few years... |

I think the fireblast would be at a low enough price point that might actually sell. |
