What can I say, great food, great roads, great sex, nice people, you don't have to spend 3 days in a car to get anywhere, you can get a high speed train (fastest in the world by the way, new record 574 kph!), plenty of very good, cheap restaurants (food again) & hotels......
We have UFOs here too but we don't hush it up.

Some folks work awfully hard to convince the rest of us how terrible it is in America these days.

Ya really gotta juggle the stats and stretch the rhetoric to refute the basic common sense fact that a greater percentage of Americans own their own homes now than ever before and that we are enjoying record high employment rates. Just the expansion in our economy over the past few years exceeds the entire economy of China.

Of all our consumption and productivity in America, we import arount 16%, export around 11% and the rest (73%) we make and consume right here in America.

Apparently for some like the NY Times and its fans, the distibution of wealth and the situation following the great depression is preferable to that just before it. I'd have to disagree with that.

Class warfare is always a main ingredient in this kind of wild concocting by the socialist Democrats;

Their issue seems to be that those darn successful folks earning money really irritates them, they yearn to forcibly redistribute America's wealth among the the people as they see fit, cause of course they know better than the rest of us. It's what they already do in their mongo powerful labor unions, where the union dues are funneled to their comrades in the Democratic party without any say by the members of the union.

Forget that the top 10% income earners pay by far the highest rates of income tax, the lion's share of the nation's tax burden, more than under Clinton. Forget that the bottom 40% of income earners don't pay any tax and actually recieve money from the fed gov.

That's not enough, we cannot have these successful people making so much money! We must put a stop to success and wealth! Everyone should make more or less about the same! Why we'll start up a bunch of big powerful labor unions and force American corporations to pay us ridiculously inflated wages. We'll teach those wealthy folks. We'll make it impossible for the corporations to compete on the world market with American labor and so force them to import more and more of their production and services.

Then we'll whine and scream about that and blame it on those evil capitalists who are trying to become wealthy. Yeah, that's the ticket. No matter what they do or what we sa, we'll always pretend America sucks and blame it on the successful wealthy people. It worked for Stalin and Mao, and look how well it worked out for Castro.

Yeah, that's the ticket. Next once we have enough fools convinced how sucky America is, we'll nationalize health care, oil, energy, impose carbon tax, nationalize all transportation, then communications and television and then all the media, cause we don't want any opposition to our agenda.

Then with a hearty smile we'll say "Welcome to the new Progessive States of Amerika, comrade!"

It is bewildering the spin and half-truths some choose to believe in furtherance of their socialist views.

It ain't Republicans tacking on $20B+ to the war funding bill.

The $20,000,000,000,000 (that's $20 TRILLION) collosal failure "great society" program and the horribly flawed social security program were conjured up by socialist Democrats as new ways to force Americans to hand over more of their money to the federal government where its bureaucracy could redistribute the money to those it felt better deserved it.

Um, I know it's your playground Blake but what's all that to do with this thread?

You've been having your buttons pressed again haven't you?

Now repeat after me,

It doesn't matter, they're never going to listen anyway, I think I'll go & sit in the sun with a nice long drink till I feel more zen.

Works for me.

How do I get the UFO technology to make my Cyclone faster? Or Fly! Which would be the thing it does not do I care most about. ( the "no fat chicks" limitation that the combination of the Buell's limited Gross weight & my fat belly imposes is not an issue with me )

As far as Boosh goes, I disagree with....lots. Having Ted Kennedy do the education bill, & several other items... well, I disagree. Has any one ever had as many leaks? Rosie thinks this guy could have secretly plotted 9/11? Riiiiiiight.

The Iraq war was a good idea, ( see note below ) we overthrew Saddam's army in short order, ( remember the nay sayers in the opposition? The ones that said we'd lose to the larger Iraqi army? They were wrong before, and still are. ) But, I think we could have done a better job in the aftermath. What, exactly we should have done better, is a whole different discussion, and those who disagree with anything the current Prez. does, probably won't agree with me on details. Hindsight is only 20-20 if you don't have on rose ( or mud ) colored glasses. The only example I'll give as a point of contention/amusement, is I'd have bill boards with Lindy Englund, with leash, on the Iranian & Syrian borders, with "Screw with Iraq, this is what you get" on them.

I think at least 1/3 of the delays & errors in both Iraq & Afghanistan are due to excessive consideration of sensitivities. The Romans had less issues. Look up "decimate". I'm not calling for atrocities, But why on Earth is Fallujah still standing? Evacuate, eliminate, sow with salt. Worked with Carthage.

Probably at least 1/3 of the issues are due to ignorance of local mores. The U.S. really needs to work on that. We are far too isolated.

Absolutely at least 1/2 of our problems, are due to the aid & comfort to the enemy provided by treasonous worms in our media & Government. If Congresscritters did not go to nations we are at war with, and undermine the admin. it would help. The public declarations that undermine the war effort, are just freaking amazing. The FACT that terrorists groups publicly backed 1 party in our last election, says it all. I'm not happy with the Elephant party, at all, but Hamas did not support it, and they DID support the Donkey's. The bad guys KNOW they can win, because the American Politicians told them so.

( if the Math don't add up, neither do economic figures bandied about. )

As far as the "...Boosh lied..." canard, how many times does Clinton, ( either one ) have to be quoted as having the exact same reasons for regime change? Get over it. Grow up. I don't want to defend a Texan that doesn't ride a Buell, ever again, OK?

Note: "...good idea.."
The neo-con concept, on Iraq, had ( at least ) 2 good ideas.

Instead of supporting dictators, maybe a free nation, smack between Syria & Iran, would make a difference. We'd encourage the people of Iran to revolt against their mullahs, and leave Syria for clean up. If it worked, win win. Besides, no one has ever tried it before. Free, people, mideast. Not tried. ( and, since Iran & Syria immediately attacked, they thought it might work too eh? )

If we set troops in Iraq, the jihadists would have to respond. Having bad guys attack our troops, there, might keep them too busy to kill your children, here. So far, that part has, partly, worked. ( the part that hasn't, is due to limitations bitched about above, see treasonous worms )

Right wing talk show hosts, figured we could steal the oil. Left wing talk show hosts, accused Bush of stealing the oil. They're both CRETINS.

Oh Yeah, Bless the French.

G,

My buttons are so far past pushing, they've been pushed to the point of meltdown. lol. I'm darn near about ready to organize a militia. Are you with me? I figure we shoot a few of these loons, maybe start with a nice tazer and pepper spray combo, until they get the hint to shut the heck up. lol. If that doesn't work, we'll use knockout gas and ship 'em off to Iran.

Just all in the name of spirited discussion.

Jimi is a truly swell guy on a personal level.

Jimi is the least of your problems (he is just an old retired guy without rose colored glasses who has an opinion on topics somebody else posts)...he doesn't make this stuff up...everything he has written is well documented by others who are a hell of a lot smarter (more informed, have better access, professional, etc.) than he is. He doesn't hate rich people (he would like to BE one), but he would like to have a more level playing field.

Jimi is no threat to anyone on here (he doesn't start no s**t, but is not afraid to wade in when absolutely necessary when he sees the BS getting a little too deep). He is a multidimensional Buell fanatic who loves his family, has a grandson named Blake (whom he worries about his future), is a motorcycle race fan, and loves trips and camping out on his S2. Does that sound very threatening to you?

BTW...

U.S. NATIONAL DEBT CLOCK

The Outstanding Public Debt as of 06 Apr 2007 at 04:20:57 PM GMT is:

$8,973,212,410,551.22

The estimated population of the United States is 301,365,588 so each citizen's share of this debt is $29,443.35. That is a mortgage over the head of every man, woman and child in the USA...and they don't have house to back it up.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $1.94 billion PER DAY since September 29, 2006!

Jimi wonders what kind of World his grandson is inheriting...which is the reason he won't just shut the heck up.

I grew up in France in the late 60's (in Fountainbleu) and look back very fondly of my time there... but I was only a little kid, oblivious to political and international intrigue.

Kids should run the world, not adults.
