Sure he rocks, it's just swinging in a different dimension. Why isn't Steve Earle more well known? What happened to Commander Cody & the Lost Planet Airmen? I caught them a few years back in Austin & they were still great then.

Mr grumpy Steve Earle is so under rated is sickens me. He 's actually a personal aquauintance. We have shared band members. if you look at the credits on el corazon dave steele the guy playing all the guitars is my ol guitar player from back in the days. I kew steve before the heroine during the heroine and now have met up a couple times since his release from jail. Much nicer these days |

You guys hush it up NOW! Tickets to the concerts are still reasonable, you can usually find decent parking, have a beer during the shows and actually see Steve and the band without looking at a giant monitor! |

Bob Dylan & James Dean? I never cared for either one. Deans movies..the few he made..have horrible acting & who can even understand Dylan singing? The guy mumbles every word. And Hank Sr? Now I love country as well as rock, but the old old country crap I think sucks. Dont want to listen to any grand ole opry, dont need Buck Owens or Loretta coming out my speakers. Now Tracy Byrd or Alan Jackson, hell even old school George Strait are more than welcome tho. |

How about Hank III ? You certainly can't accuse him of re-doing his father's or grandfather's material.

What is it with this same first name business? There's all the Hank Williamses, and the George Bushes, and plenty of others too. Is there a shortage of first names in the US? I don't think so, judging by the unlikely first names of some MLB players. It can only mean a distinct lack of imagination on the fathers side!

Why, thank you, Fubba... For another one of those 'pearls' I was talking about. Why isn't Steve Earle more well known? Same reason no one's heard of Guy Clark. edited by captpete on April 05, 2004 |

Earle's the best -- Guy Clarke can play in MY band any day! James Dean's rep is good for the same reason JFK's is . . . the both checked out before their work could be well evaluated, I think Hank Sr is aces, I'm thinkin metallica is a 3rd rate band . . . . if ya want the real thing, go to the source, I say glad to hear I'm not the only one to question Bob Dylan's "genius" status . .. . . the think the emporor is nekkid in this case |

Hey talk about music nobody seems to know.. what about the Gales Brothers? Those guys rock! Or howabout some of the other forgotten names, like FogHat? Or some great rock acts that still can't get any respect like Blue Oyster Cult? Come On! There is so much great music in the world.. and we're force fed so little of it by radio, it sickens the soul.. Ok, that's it.. I'm gonna go riding last Saturday, in the cold, wet, windy world and still enjoy it! Oh, sorry, small time warp there, I already did that. Later, |

glad to hear I'm not the only one to question Bob Dylan's "genius" status . .. . . the think the emporor is nekkid in this case I have never understood why anyone would even want to listen to his crap. Way over rated. Blue Oyster cult rocks!! Have a number of their albums & CD's. Course what the hell do I know? My favorite band of all time is AC/DC. Have every single album they ever produced for the USA as well as a few imports. Finally saw em in concert a few years ago & had a fantastic time. |

AC/DC! why you young whippersn.... never mind, I just realized I'm old. Ac/DC puts on a good show, The Geetar player rode the shoulders of a roadie all around the outside corridor of the Rochester War Memorial during his solo last time I saw them. Blue Oyster Cult, underrated, and the last show of theirs I saw, I almost cried, they had so many tech problems. Not the bands fault. None of the lasers worked, they lost control of Godzilla, and the amps croaked as they started the encore. "Reaper" damn it. I thought it was Spinal Tap 2 being filmed. I actually was looking around for cameras. My kid sister turned me on to punk, and is now trying with Country. I'm working on overcoming 70's rock snobdom. Oh & metalica? break it down. metalic = like metal, but not, "a" suffix = feminine form? so metalica = feminine almost metal edited by aesquire on April 05, 2004 |

I've never liked country at all, but the new country pop makes me cringe. Pinkard and Bowden say it best... "I'd rather hear a fat girl fart, than a pretty boy sing/ Sorry, but good-lookin' guys just ain't my thing." |

The most stupid statement ever made on BadWeB - Dylan fan or not And who the hell was the one attacking Blake & anyone else for statements such as that one, before their sudden attack of PC. Thanks for the PMA Sean. BTW...I still think Dylan sucks. |

Bob Dylan is quite probably the greatest songwriter of the 20th century. His voice isn't melodic in the least, but what he says and how he says it is absolutely incredible. Of course, that's just my opinion. You may think that David Seville and the Chipmunks are an inspiration. You have that right. |

Sorry Dyna, I couldn't help that one. Dyna I defy anyone to put on Dylan's 'Desire' album and tell the world it's crap and over rated. Give it a listen if you haven't already. Me, I love all kinds of music right across a very broad spectrum but one band moves me like no other, Slade, and they were the worlds most underrated band. Now you can rip the shit outta me Dyna unless you too are a Slade fan? LOL I remember sometime ago when someone here said they were listening to Gomez's 'Liquid Skin' CD. I won't drop names but that person obviously has a great taste and understanding of music and that's what's so significant about Dylan and many others like him. It's the understanding. Dylan influenced mankind with his music. Probably changed history too. That's the power of music and it can not be ignored or dismissed as crap when the composer has such influence on so many.
