Hey all, especially you dealer types... I have a 99X1 (no shock recall for this model) and have gone through two rear shocks. They both leaked all the fluid out, and the first one actually blew the rear seal out. I have a 2002 model shock I want to put on, but I don't have the appropriate front mount, and whatever else comes in the recall kit. Can anyone provide me with part numbers/cost of the parts I will need? I appreciate the assistance, Jeff |

I didn't think there was any difference in the shock mounts. What changed in 2002?

The change wasn't in 2002, it was 1 or 2 years before. But the shock I have is a 2002. The front mount I have is a 99. The 2002 shock is shorter than the 99 shock. I have the updated Y hanger and associated voltage regulator relocation kit in place. I'm not sure if this is required for the new suspension set up, but there it is. I found the part number for the front mount in another topic, but I would still like to know if there are any other parts involved other than nuts, bolts, and zip ties that are part of the recall kit. Thanks all, Jeff |

Jeff: For S2&S3's the front shock mount is K0407.01A1. I am not 100% sure if this is the same as the one for the X-1. If you have the 2002 shock (with the big eyes you need the new front mount since the shock is ~1.700" SHORTER. Double check this P/N. You can see the S/B's here: SB B-035a and B-033A Jeff, check your e-mail Later Neil S. |
