Joe Rocket ballistic pants
Last week I noticed that the sewing in the knees of my Joe Rocket ballistic pants were coming apart. The pants were almost 2 years old. The warranty is for one year.

Joe Rocket told me to send them to their factory in Idaho and let the warranty dept deal with it.

So I sent them last Monday and today a box was on my porch with the BRAND NEW 2004 ballistic pants, completely redesigned in the knees, to avoid the fraying problem that I had.

So, there's some good news. Joe Rocket took care of me and I'm grateful. I think I'm going to check out their riding boots.

Joe Rocket's warranty is awesome. When I had my deer incident, they told me to send in my gear for repair or replacement. I just can't seem to part with my gear though, it makes such a nice trophy hanging in the garage. They did send me some cool decals, a cool t-shirt and hat.

Leeaw, the ballistic pants are good stuff. They're great windbreakers and have enough elastic to make them comfortable on a long ride. The armor is well-positioned.

The redesign of the knee area should make these pants pretty durable over the long run. I wore my first pair at temp's up to 80F before they got too warm for me.

I melted the zipper on my mesh jacket after throwing it over the XB one day. Called to see if I could buy a new zipper, and the guy said a new one was on the way, even after I explained that the problem was the result of my own negligence.

Didn't matter. I needed a new zipper and it arrived 5 days later. Better than owning a Zippo.

Joe Rocket took very good care of me and I will never forget it.

I got to put JR up their with SONY and now Lockhart Phillips.

I had a minor problem with my LP front stand. As in a weld letting go. Talked, sent pics, told it would be replaced, received a pre-paid shipping label, shipped out and waiting for the replacement.

As far as SONY USA goes.....I am a lifetime buyer now.

I actually have their Phoenix jacket and a Vanson leather jacket but sometimes don't want to ride in jeans. I will have to check them out.

THOSE ARE THE BOOTS i SELL AND WEAR. They are real good, windproof warm and like gore tex in the summer they wick away the heat.

the reason I carry joe rocket is because they stand behind they're product.

Joe Rocket has twice replaced my Ballistic pants at no cost. First time I busted the pull tab off the fly zipper. A year later, the fly zipper split (from fat and growing gut, electric vest, sweat shirt, shirt, teeshirt, you know, winter riding) again, no problems. That's why I bought their leathers as well for track days.

Dirty trick Joe Rocket played on me replacing my ballistic pants! They've turned me in to a loyal customer...

...so today I went out and bought their Revolution boots! Just in time for colder weather, and 20% off their retail price, to boot. :]

I was thinking about getting a leather jacket and pants for riding, hows joe rockets products with leather, good quality for the price? Should I just stick with the textile products for riding?

There are 2 companies that I have personal experience with that go above & beyond any reasonable scope of customer service. They are Joe Rocket & Kuryakyn.

When I bought 1 JR coat I noticed after a month or so that the zipper for attaching a pair of riding pants was missing. i called them up & they said to just send em in & they would fix it. I got a brand new coat back along with all shipping charges.

With Kuryakyn I had a Hypercharger on my bike when i bought it & the butterfly broke after I had it about a year. I called them up & just wanted to order a new shaft. the women on the line said "no problem, we will take care of it". the next day I recieved a brand new complete hypercharger setup with the improved bearings. This thing is like $300 & they sent it to me no questions asked. Since then I have purchased a lot of other items from them. because of the way I was treated they now have a loyal customer for life.

Joe Rocket replaced all my gear, Ballistic Pants, Jacket and Boots before the 20th Anniversary and I would definately buy from them again.

Damm older stuff leaked due to torrential rain and driving into said rain at 75mph.

Teknic is good. I have one of their jackets, good quality.
Something comfortable.
You mean while you're riding, as in venting, or warm, or dry, none are good for walking more than a few minutes.

I wear different boots for different rides.. If I'm doing a track thing, or gonna be riding hard, I wear Sidi's.. (in blue and black of course).. Great boot, VERY comfortable and very well built. Also can be a little pricey, so shop around. Sidi also seemed to have no problem fitting my big fat american feet.. unlike most of the other companies whos' boots felt to me as though they were built for people half my size.

Later,

my Dainese (sp?) boots are 4 years old, and are ACES for b'trax, track daze, and, ehem, enthusiastic back roading . . ..

recently got a new pair of Sida Sympatex (again, sp?) cuz they says they are waterproof . . .. . ain't tested em, but I DO know that the Dainese ain't waterproof . . . .. . the Ds are comfy, seem to be well armored, and do support my somewhat-shot ankles nicely
