Call me stupid but somehow I managed to crack the damm shifter arm on my 98 S1. If anyone has one kicking around on a shelf that they have removed from a bike please e-mail me to discuss the possibility of getting it to Newfoundland at a reasonable price. |

That sux bro. I broke mine a few days ago when I was removing the primary cover to work on the tranny. I got mine from a local guy that had upgraded to a Banke shifter(free). Good luck. |

Looks like it's time for a new style shifter. $100 well spent if you ask me. |

you know the funny thing is I think the old one works better even with the play in it. |

Newfie... if the other offers fall through, email me, I have one I will ship you, just tell me how to get it there. Cost of shipping only, and I won't even have you bother with that unless it's a lot. |

The new one would be great if it the action didn't have so much friction...the best I had was a Storz lever...but I had an oopsie and it was stronger than my shift shaft! |

Thanks for the offers, When I went home after posting the message my Harley owning neighbor had a few of the boys over and I went for a beer. Here he had the exact part I needed sitting on his wall. He has a habit of taking all of his parts he replaces and scattering them around the house as pieces of art. Told him I needed that part and a few beers later it was mine, had to leave the broken one though, which now sits in the place the good one did. This Board Rocks - I just checked my e-mail and have had at least three offers for shifters. Thanks Guys for the Support - My hat goes off to everyone who is a member of this board. |

Bill, Glad to know that your operational, NOAA says it's 23* in St. Johns today....prime weather! Give consideration to switching to the Banke shifter: regular; reverse; or, rearset. Just changing to the Banke made my S-1 shift every bit as good as any of the several Ducati's I've owned. Oh, by the way, we had a little drizzle here this morning but by 11:00 AM it was blue skys, dry pavement, and 62*. Just had to test ride the S-1 to make sure I didn't introduce any leaks when cut down the cam cover....120 miles, no leaks. Mickey Livermore, California |
