Hex....er, Spatten is hewing to religious dogma, against which no amount of fact or logic can or will prevail.

I generally observe that those resorting to personal attacks are the ones that have lost the logical thread.

Contrary to poplar belief:

The 1125r is slower in the long straights.

I have seen it for myself in person repeatedly. Yes the 1125r rocketed down the front stretch of VIR only to be overtaken at the last second by a lighter bike. You should have seen it loose steam and overheat on the long stretches of Road America. The 1125r's could not keep up in the long straights of RA. I overheard the teams saying the engine was severely overheating because of a more aerodynamic body work they were trying to use to keep-up with the 600's.

If you want to talk about unfair fights look @ Higbee out there on his 1125r in superbike giving them hell with a severe HP disadvantage.

To all the haters, that ride Buells. Stop ur bitching go thank Richie Morris and his team, and more importantly go to the race and give Shaun a handshake and a HELL YEAH for running in DSB and Superbike back to back with his name on the side of his 1125R.

GO HIGBEE!!!!!!!!

Finally a good logical explanation of why the bike is falling off in the longest straights. Good information.

"Soooo, when the Kawisakis crash, run off or fail to perform they are "piles" and when Eslick does well it's because his bike overwhelms the competition. Has NOTHING to do with the riders? That's pure crap."

Hmmm....When Eslick wasn't winning, according to some, he was on "POS Suzuki's" and "inferior machines". Sounds like excuses to me.

Now's got the Buell, he's won 6x's. Seems like a good rider has been made better with a great bike.

If this is the case then maybe the AMA should be looking at changing who competes with who instead of which bikes are. Levels of sponsorship seem to be making the riders better. If Higbee and Eslick were on the same level of sponsorship, I believe we'd see them closer in the points.

Maybe a factory class and a privateer class?

Like I said, let the Buells lighten up, even up the horsepower, and you will have a great formula.

I'd be willing to bet that if the Buell lost 25 lbs and matched the, what, 15hp (?) deficit, we'd see the Buell's mopping up the field every weekend.

Now that I would love to see!

Unlike spec racing, Buell would get the props for having a superior chassis and brakes.

How is superior power any different than superior chassis? Both get you around the track faster. Both need to be mitigated in a mixed class in order to keep the competition close.

How is superior power any different than superior chassis?

or superior brakes
or superior tire wear
or superior engine inertia
or superior aerodynamics

the list could go on.

Different machines, different weaknesses, different advantages.

Great racing. WTF is the problem?

Get rid of your preconceived notions that racing is a 600cc/1000cc IL4 thing and you will be alot happier...and maybe can stand to watch one of those horrible DSB races.

Really it's your loss.

>>>the only true measure of a motorcycle is its HP/cc.

That's inaccurate. Simple physics.

Cool to see a race where "lopsided performance" has to be detected with a camera in a finish separated by 0.0001 seconds.

>>>Hmmm....When Eslick wasn't winning, according to some, he was on "POS Suzuki's" and "inferior machines". Sounds like excuses to me.

Then Ben Spies and every other Suzuki GSXR600 rider from 2003 through 2007 can make the same excuse. When one of the best racers of our era, Ben Spies, could barely manage a solitary win on the thing, along with a whole slew of others over a period of years, you don't have to make any excuse. Reality is what it is. Facts are facts. You had a slew of very skilled racers on multiple teams competing on the bike in that period, never to win a race, yet Danny was able to podium on multiple occasions and took a third and fourth in those very hotly contested AMA series, all as a privateer.

Now Danny is the ONLY man to win on the Buell. But morons figure it is the machine more than the man.

Zactly!!!!!!

There are NOT two boxes for every other bike to be shoe horned into.

Once you understand that, you realize that "there is no spoon".

All this has to be sending the Aprilia folks schizoid . . . I mean . . . how can this make them feel? They too enjoy all that advantage from displacement and are pretty much in the "eventually finish" category.

Wazup with that?

Can you IMAGINE if Danny had a shifter malfunction in BOTH Superpole and Race 1, one day later?

The Buell haters would have a field day to say the least. Look how Buell was crucified after the fairing problem in Daytona!

I really haven't heard anything other than "Chaz had a really tough weekend." Definitely a double standard out there.

yep, i spoke with Flick about that for awhile at R.A. during homecoming. he said they were having a hell of a time deciding which was the lesser of 2 evils basically. get more air and run cooler with less top speed down the straight, or cut through the air better and have more top speed and hope they dont have a melt down of the motor from over heating the whole time.

Are they allowed to mount different radiators or change mounting locations in DSB?

Approved equipment list

If it is not on this list, that means only a stock part can be used.

If you can only have only stock parts and some aftermarket farkles, then why do most of the "big" teams have engine builders?

The good ol' hot rodders trick of "blue printing the motor. Plus decking heads and

Must be why Buell reconfigured the radiators on the RR

Yeah Court....I tried an experiment last race I was at...I first wore an Aprilia hat into their pits and they couldn't move fast enough out of the way to let me take pics. The next day I went in with my Buell hat and they tried to block me taking pics......I felt bad since ,along with my Buells ,I also ride a Tuono.....but how can you know you have the best bike without riding both?.........Then when I wore my usual American Sport Bike hat they were much friendlier..... except Chaz.......soooo has Mom told you to play NICE on the commieputer?
