Like Froggy, I set out to fill up the Uly with Mobil 1... and then it started snowing again. So I took down the Xmas lights instead. Now I'm just looking forward to a Saturday without rain or snow so I can service the Uly in the driveway comfortably.

Quietly.

No test bikes.
The 1125CR still isn't available.
I might get a XR1200 shortly and a Honda Varadero Adv bike is slated for a long term test.

Otherwise a few local jaunts and that's about it.

The weather is pretty close to perfect at the moment too.

It started with my coffee pot leaking all over the counter and went down hill from there. The bearings in the head on the vaccum and melted the plastic...Junk. Then the trans nuked on my dually taking the transfer case with it. As Im laying on my back pulling the trans out in the garage my daughter comes running into the garage telling me the washing machine is flooding the house. Ive dropped 2 grand in the last 2 weeks just to get my things back to the way they were. Im planning a long distance bike trip so lets hope Im past it!

Got into a huge fight with my fiance on New years eve.. I was coming, just alcohol and emotional christmas made it worse. She gave me back my ring, don't know about any future with her. found out my 78 gs 1000 needs a starter clutch 250.oo for the parts. I'm getting by business audited by the IRS for the last 3 yrs.. My roof on my house just started leaking. The weather has sucked ass so bad can't even ride to shake it off. the one time i tried in the last week was when i blew the starter clutch. I guess the good news is I'm alive and have my son and he is well. I'm soo much wanting spring to be here.

The front wheel bearing on my F150 4X4 is no longer with us, may it rest in pieces. I did find I needed a tie rod end and idler arm also! Now it has to be fixed! The rear end in the Jeep is really making alot of noise, I am crossing my fingers until it gets warmer. The wheels on the Ford Festiva are packed with frozen mud! The driving lights on the Little Kids Barbie car are working nicely.
I have resolved to try and have a better relationship with my wife.

Other than being away from home in a more frozen than where home is, it is well with my soul...

2009 holds great promise.

I just have to get up every day. Grind out the day. Kiss my wife. Hug my kids. Do the best I can.

It will all be just fine.

Wow...what a swamp of negative stuff to wade through. Well, I hope the year looks up for you all.
As for us... We have big things planned for 2009 and the next few years to come. Thought it was time to make time life go the way we want it to,
instead of just the way it goes for once.
I have thrown my full-time job and back to study I go. Doing something I really want to do this time.
Scored a new part-time job at a cool little 50's and rock and roll shop to pay the bills. Spent New Years Eve with friends and few microphones
(although after a few drinks they seemed to go out of tune!).
Might have another addition to the garage sometime this year too. We are on the lookout for a new house, and on top of all that, we want to get
over to visit you guys when we can! So, busy busy here.

But you don't understand, I was going to replace the left wheel bearing when actually it was the right one. Soon as it gets warm, consider it done!

Vampress, if it doesn't snow where you are, you just don't understand how funny it all is...

Wait a few months, then ask the same question again...

I was forced to move back to my folks house. We moved outta the ghetto in Baltimore to a ritzy neighborhood and I couldn't afford it after 4 months of struggling. So I'm back to my redneck small town. Saving money for a house and finishing my edumacation. My folks are cool so I don't mind living there though. Gonna START the New year right with a repaint, blacking out all the parts on the bike and getting my helmet painted and an orange helmet mohawk!

Still need to find a wa to quit smoking, gum, patches and Chantix don't work for me.

B00stzx3, you just need to decide to stop smoking. It may happen, it may not. Pretty simple really. Yeah it'll suck, but you either deal with it or you don't.

Wow. My original post wasn't for me such a negative thing. I like OKRA, the Teflon tape was used in a job I was doing that actually made a profit. As for the wheel bearings, I feel better starting off the new year with them in place after two and a half years and 35,000 miles.

I was surprised to see how much water was in there. It was about 4 ounces. I am putting a zirc fitting in the rim and filling the hub with marine grease so that there is no room for water. It always worked on my three wheelers, and they suffered a lot more water and torque abuse than the Uly ever will.

Chin up everybody, after this nasty adjustment period this will be a rebuilding year from which we can launch a great year, or years to come.

I can quit smoking, until I drink. Then I smoke always. And I can't stop drinking, I'm 22, what would I do with my weekends.

Everyone cheer up, we have Buells, Beer and .....I dunno anything else that would fit and be family friendly here.

My year started off great. Sales of Honda's are going well. The only hang up I had was one of the Fletcher Auto Group employees from the Chevy store was hit by a car whilst apparently trying to help a distressed motorist. Got flung over a bridge. I didn't really know him outside of a couple of sales functions amongst the dealerships, but he knew our names. It really sucks when somebody you know, or are just acquainted gets killed. It makes me feel better knowing he was killed trying to help somebody out. A shame he had to die.

Other than that, things are doing well. i think I'll sell a car on his behalf.

This year started great!

31 Dec - Zac4Mac showed up at my door on his high speed low drag 1125R. It looked a lot better with the S2 parked next to it.

1 Jan - I got to spend with my girl riding the 95 S2 with Lynn on her Nightster. We had a nice ride around town and out East for lunch. I then took the 96 S2T for a spirited ride through the woods. Finally it was time to clean the garage.

2 Jan - Lynn had to go to work and I called in sick and rode my 07 XB12R up to Fredrick CO with J2Blue and my work bonus in hand and rode home on a 2009 XB12X in Court Canfield Blue. The best part was it ended up being a mini rally with many Buellers showing up and test riding a 1125Cr that was setup with lower pegs and higher bars. It fit perfect.

3 Jan - I took Lynn out for a short ride on the Ugly and took it down a dirt road (Skinner Road). We had a great time until the temp dropped from 40 to 25 in a matter of minutes.

When the snow finally came I started to order parts for the Ogly, lights, wires, radios, bags etc. I think I spent next years bonus as well. They never stay stock.

It will be a great year!

2009 started for me with a hangover, and that was pretty cool, a sign of a fun night the evening before, and it was one of the best New Years Eve's ever : )

"I just have to get up every day. Grind out the day. Kiss my wife. Hug my kids. Do the best I can."
A better perspective on life doesn't exist. Well put.
I'll second that!

The holiday season didn't go exactly as I'd hoped - I got sick with a virus and Bells Palsy, broke an exhaust stud on the X1, broke a tooth, my Mum got sick again... BUT I got over the virus quicker than expected, I got to play with the Playstation 2 I got for my birthday while I was sick (Gran Turismo 4 rocks, Tourist Trophy is hard!), the X1 will be back on the road soon, and Mum has some great doctors looking after her : ), Vamps got into her course and got a new job too.

I am a very lucky guy. I have the most amazing girl in the world who chooses to be a part of my life and we have a lot of great things to look forward to this year, including making a few dreams come true - studying, new music and a new band, playing with cars and motorcycles, and a home of our own at some stage this year too.
It's funny how life travels along and sometimes you realise you're in a place exactly where you want to be, even if it isn't where you'd imagined you'd be : ). Life is good.

2009 is going to be great, I hope it's turning into a great year for you folks too : )

They say that 'Life is what happens, while you're busy making other plans'. I guess it's a bit of both here. But what would life be, if was all
just plain sailing? No turns in the road, no speed bumps to get over. Straight roads are just that...sooo straight!
2009 is going to be great...

The industrial strength crap part:

Wrecked my Blast a couple of days before Christmas.

The divorce has gotten even more nasty and the lawyer wants "another" 5 grand that I don't have.

Lawyer also says under no circumstances can I buy a bike until the divorce is final.

The lady that I've been seeing since July decided she was done waiting on my divorce.

On the plus side:

I still have both my kids with me.

In 6 weeks I should be a free man.

Have a line on an older small car with very low mileage at a very reasonable price.

Ex girl friend's younger sister has expressed interest in me.

I live in hope.

I started the new year off by getting married. I spent 38 years as a single man and decided that a change was needed.
So far, we're only 9 days into the marriage. I think it's the best decision I've made in life. Hopefully this way of thinking will continue, (for both of us).
We spent our honeymoon in Michigan and we were able to go to the IMS in Novi.

Fravel, if you're out there, shoot me your address and I'll send you the Buell shirt we picked up for you.

"I'm just grateful that I really like lemonade!" Hang in there, and if all else fails, go for the tequila and salt every now and then : D

So when does the little guy get his first Buell??? ; )

Zane - sometimes these things take time, and get real ugly too, but you'll get there. There are plenty of great bikes out there in the future, and more importantly someone, somewhere out there who will blow away your heart and soul : )

Lightningrob - CONGRATS!!!!

A few years ago I made a list of things I wanted to do by the end of that year. By about March I'd totally forgotten about the list, but I found it later in the year and suprised myself by having done about half the list. I might do the same this year...
