Icon has a cool one too. The rubatone finish is a rubberized, scratch-resistant coating that has the color made into it, so no chips. Neat stuff: http://rideicon.com/product_details.jsp?category=1 660&id=6929 |

That is a cool looking helmet....only issue I have is, that Camo pattern is no longer used by the Marine Corps. |

Hey Devdwg, what's wrong with a salute to old and outdated Marines ? I bet if enough people emailed them they would make one with an up to date patern. I have found it easier to paint my helmets the way I want anyway. Glitter green for me. SF |

They need to have one with pens and whiteout for all the admin pogues! Oh! They also need one with spray starch and edge dressing for the Yankee White guys! There also needs to be a tuba and a slide trombone for the USMC Band crew! I envision an entire line with one for each MOS! I have dibs on the first 0351! Go SMAW! |

Do you need a DD214 to order one ? I hope so. So if I wanted to show some support to the troops by wearing a helmet decorated with my favorite branch of service, y'all would be against it? It's not like wearing a metal or some other official military decoration, or something. Y'all don't like it that I wear an Army jacket, or shop at the local Army/Navy surplus either? |

I gotta agree with the Jirines on this one wearing military stuff is something we all earned and while it's not the worst thing to wear it cause you like it. Wearing military stuff should be reserved for those who earned it |

Well. . . as a "Remington Raider" who spent my entire enlistment as the Congressional Aide to General J. C. Fegan, Jr. . . Id be forced to opt for the first 0151 model. Before I take my usual ration of shit for not having served overseas I'll just say that when I went to the Recruiting Office and enlisted it was not the most popular thing in America. I've still got cases of uniforms but am pretty sure I'll not have a 28" waist again. I still dig the helmet. Semper Fi, Court |

Been all over the world with the with the service, but I was never stationed anywhere but my own backyard(Pacific Area One) And the time I was 'attached' to the Corps, I was still at home of residence. some of the coolest shit I did will never got me a medal or ribbon. It never was about that chest salad display. |

I'm talking about helmets and and unit shirts and even tattos with branch or unit insignia I don't care bout ribbons and such hell I don't think I ever put any of that stuff on my Class A's it was a pain in the ass come inspection time. I know a guy that has a marine corp tatto and he aint never been in probably can't even spell Marine Corps I call him out on it every time I see the to the point he won't even come near me anymore. |

I'm no wannabe I did try to join but the military is scared of a little congestive heart arrhythmia, but thanks to them I know I have it...I guess... I don't have any military tattoos, or fake uniforms, and had no idea if I had a military themed helmet I'd be offending those that served. I thank those that served, and are serving, they all have my utmost respect and gratitude. |

No sweat, I'm not worried about it really. I wear what I want when I want. I just didn't know it would offend, and frankly I was a bit surprised. |

The Devil Dog helmet is a throwback... Below is straight from the company. ..."The Devil Dog Helmet is a throwback to old school Marines. It also slightly references Full Metal Jacket, not only with the old school camo but with the ace of spades in the helmet that says "first in, last out". This helmet was designed by Marines for Marines; hopefully the lack of digital camo wont keep you from purchasing the helmet." I've asked when to expect it to be available...I'll let you know what I hear. |

Update on the Devil Dog helmet... It'll be out in about two months. Also, all military get a 15% discount and those deployed to "Hot Spots" get a 40% discount...takes quite a bit of the sting out of that price tag. |

That helmet is f'n bad. It needs a pinup on it somewhere. I would definitely get one. Anyone have any info on these helmets from first hand experience? How do they fit? Noise? Is the visor removable? I could almost justify $419 plus whatever a pinup sticker set would cost. Is the military discount for active duty only? |

I just don't get the whole idea of wearing something that represents something you didn't or don't want to be a part of. I mean...if you want to wear something that will make others assume you paid your dues, why don't you just pay your dues ? SF |

I'm thinking about buying an Akuma helmet before I leave Afghanistan. I'm told I can get two helmets at a pretty good discount...if I order while deployed. Not sure how long I have before I leave but if any BadWebber is interested in the other helmet at a discount...let me know. |
