Very funny,Glitch! I'm surprised you knew that little tid-bit. THe newer "Deep Vee Sump" is supposed to cure that. (Message edited by ducxl on October 15, 2008) |

What a CHEAP shot!!!! THere's always a smart alec answer as to why a superior bike is an unfair comparison. I wasn't trying to be smart about it. It was a valid point (to me at least). Buell is built to a price point. If Buell had another 40-50% of construction budget, what else could it do? How much more could have been spent on styling? Engine tuning? Components? Saying that a Corvette sucks because it isn't a Ferrari at twice the price is silly and a meaningless comparison. Buell is above Japan and well below Triumph, KTM, Ducati, MV, or Guzzi in price point. That is a good place to be. I'd like to see the 1098 Ducati would build at half the price. It would probably have a muffler that looks like it was welded together from discarded stove pipes like the 1125 line. It would have $25 clubman bars like the CR. It would have scoops. It would reuse the tail section of the previous model line. It would reuse the wheels from the previous line. Would you buy an American bike priced at $20,000 when you could get the sex appeal of a Ducati or MV? I doubt many would. Buell is simply the best non-Japanese bang for the buck. Paying more gets you more refinement but not necessarily more bike. |

Buell is simply the best non-Japanese bang for the buck. Paying more gets you more refinement but not necessarily more bike. That was the reason for me buying my Honda Element. It would do just as much for cheaper then a majority of the competition. But being ugly was part of the deal. But when it comes to me buying a motorcycle a couple thousand dollars is not going to be me making the decision on buying a bike just because I can afford it more. My bike is my toy, release,Hobby. I've got to really like it. 2-3 thousand dollars will not be a deal breaker. |

Ducati will annihalate the competition with the "HyperFighter" Well considering the 848, 1098, 1098S and 1098R have all lost to the 1125R lately, they do need to make back ground. Oh you meant in sales, now I understand the comment. Never mind.! |

The 848 was top 5 in points in FX this year with Peagram at helm. The 1125r still needs to be seen in that area of racing..... hopefully soon. |

The 1125R is not legal there. But it is legal for AMA Superbike. I would love to see an American Superbike challenge like Crevier's 7th in points this year in Canadian Superbike. |

Speaking of CR's, haas anyone seen or tried the accessory handlebar upgrade for the CR? I like the CR, but not the stock bars. I just found out about the accessory bars, and I'm curious how much more upright of a riding position they provide. |

Holy crap those bars are UGLY. It was never a question for me because I like the riding position, but those accessory bars are for certain out of the question now. They do not look right on that bike. |

Thanks. I also would like to see a side view of the riding position, but that certainly looks promising. |

There are more than just the Buell bars that can be fitted. I would probably rather have the Pro-Taper bars like I have on my Uly. Low, flat and wide. |

No doubt about it, the CR is 10X more evil than the 1125R. That's an AWESOME pic. ~SM |

They do not look right on that bike. I don't think they look that out of place, But I definitely think they would be more comfortable than the Clubmans. Those things are wrist killers on that bike (for me anyway.) |

Somehow, those bars look really right to me, but that's just me. What might look good with those bars is a tuber headlight and wind deflector, and a standard radiator tucked in tight in front of the engine, with a Lightning tail section...... .....in White, with Nuclear Blue wheels and frame..... |

You're all crazy. Those bars look out of place, and the clubmans are plenty comfortable. This bike is more comfortable to ride than my Firebolt was, and I've numerous 10 hour days on that bike. I think I've as much as 6 in one sitting ong the CR so far with no complaints. To each their own. |

LOVE that pic!!!!!!!!! That's getting printed right now and going on the wall at work! Upright bars, clubman bars, whatever, I like the fact you can have both and change them whenever you want. (Bikes look so much better when you take the mirrors off ) |
