Hello fellow Buellers, sorry I have been MIA for a period of time after the 25th anniversary. I was at a radio course for 5 days, Joint Firepower Course for 7, 4 days for medical, and working major overtime at my civilian job. As some of you know, I will be deploying to Iraq as an 13F E-6 Staff Sgt, Fire Support Team leader, with HHC 2-112 INF 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team. (for a definition of a forward observer check this out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artillery_observer ) I leave for mobilization at Camp Shelby in about 3 weeks, then Ft Polk, Ft Dix, be home Dec 24th-jan 2nd, then deploying to Iraq. I have the banner I was getting signed packed away in the top of my ruck to be flown wherever we are. I have spread the word of Buell like wildfire and have already converted SGt Carper- S-1, CSM Carper- Blast, CPT McKnight- Blast, LT Hinkle- 1125R, SGT Smith-XB9R, and have a few more guys I need to get some brochures to haha. It was a pleasure meeting many of you ath the 25th, my wife Kate and I had a riot riding, eating, boozeing, and swimming with all you hooligans. Brian Cessna |

Make sure you get us all pics of that flag over there!! Good luck man...There's a spot for Navy Reserve volunteers to do detainee work that I may volunteer for. Though, with me being this close to my degree, I may hold off. Be safe. Wilson |

Brian, While you are down at Camp Shelby, if you run into Sgt. Snow (6', 245lbs, solid as a rock, blonde hair with glasses) tell him his little brother said hey. I think his deployment date is in March. But he spends alot of time between Camp Shelby and HQ in Jackson, MS. Thanks for what you do and be safe!! |

Brian, once again, Thank you for your service! Spend each and every free moment with Kate while you can. I was going to invite you up for the fall Res Ride Sept 6, but thought otherwise. I know you will have your hands full keeping XB9er in line, but keep a special eye out for him. Thanks. It was nice to see you again at HC as well as meeting Kate. Take care, keep your situational awareness up! Toona |

I hope your time at Shelby is quick and painless. I was less than impressed with my predeployment training. I hope you fare better. Nothing like having infantry skills improperly taught to an infantry unit by motor-T guys who have never deployed! I wonder what you are going to end up doing over there. We didn't know for sure until the very end of our training. We ended up doing convoy escort security. Even though the preparations at Shelby were a joke, the unit we replaced in Iraq worked their A$$E$ off to make sure we knew what we were doing. I have HUGE respect and gratitude for the North Carolina National Guard unit that was there before us. Great group of guys. Don't hesitate to post a request here if you need anything. I would be glad to help out. One of the best things I had when I was at Shelby was a bunch of those little waterproof bags for books, ipods, phones, smokes.... etc etc... Good luck! Be safe! Bill |

Yeah Brian and I had A.T. at camp shelby in June. What a joke those people have no clue about infantry training. (Message edited by xb9er on August 30, 2008) |
