Police near Los Angeles say motorists stopped in speeding traffic to gather up bills Sunday after a man on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle dropped a bag of cash. They took off when the California Highway Patrol arrived. Some fine citizens there. |

I'm just surprised that there were no shootings by any of the "amateur socialists" who stopped. |

It doesn't matter what his name was. If it was drug $, he is dead... Normal folk do not carry large amount of currency in a back back. |

Normal folk do not carry large amount of currency in a back back. And all bikers are trash too right? He could have been a restaurant owner (or car wash, or convenience store owner or...)taking a couple days of cash and receipts to the bank. Some people actually still pay cash and some places actually still accept cash as a valid form of payment. Guess he should have paid the brinks truck to come by his taco stand. Though no matter how I got the money, I'm pretty sure it would have been in another bag inside the back pack. (Message edited by miamiuly on August 12, 2008) |

Look at the story as told. Here is what I see 1) Guy is riding bike with loose money in a bag? Any business owner would use a merchant money bag. They are extremely durable, so even if it did fall out, the money would have stayed intact. Most employers do not trust the "regular help" with bank deposits. A manager maybe, but that follows question two. 1) Guy is not sure how much money was taken? Any business owner would have known to the penny how much was in the bag. Let's say he was a regular joe heading to purchase a car (with cash) he would know exactly how much he had with him. The fact they he didn't leads me to believe it was drug related, or something else nefarious. The motorcycle didn't way into my thoughts. |

Still, I'm trying to be less cynical, it aint easy. I gave up years ago, and I am much happier for it. When you expect to be disappointed on a regular basis, it becomes a wonderful surprise when it turns out good. I then can revel in the good moments. |
