Recently I went up to Carlisle PA for the Bike Fest and they had a special "Street Fighter" section and competition. Of course I was wearing my Buell swag and got a lot of questions from the street fighter guys. After looking at the bikes in the competition, I notice many of them had features found stock on my XB. Where I live there isn't a HUGE street fighter scene but I was intrigued, these guys seemed about as passionate about there bikes as I am about mine. Not to mention there is just something about being different, almost rebellious. So my question, in your area, is there a Street Fighter scene and have you participated/assimilated using your Buell? |

I don't like scenes. Too many bad apples. I am my own scene... Plus, I don't know any people with the Buells around here. |

the only "rally" I've been to where I really felt comfortable was March Badness. I went to Destin/Ft. Walton Thunder Beach rally and was miserable, stuck in slow moving traffic in a sea of harleys and choppers... never again. I've met a couple of local guys that have gone in the fighter direction, a SV beater w/ clubmans and a 749Dark that was stripped of all its fairings. |

I'm building one now with a 98 GSXR 750. I put on dirt bike handlebar clamps and superbike bend bars, bug-eye headlamps, and next I'm putting on a ZX6R tail section a buddy scored for me. Basically, it looks way more like my Buell now than it looks like a gixxer. No scene for me either, just some friends and the Buell group. I'm not cool enough for a scene. |

The street fighter scene in Eastern NC pretty much comprises one at the local tattoo shop, and the numerous stretched swingarm 'Busa's. It pales in comparison to the German street fighter scene, but than again, damn near everything else does. 1313 |

I think 1-4 sportbikes I see in Mo-Bile have an extended swingarm. That seems to be the trend here. There was one at bike night a few weeks ago with a 360 rear tire this isn't the bike but just to give you an idea... this is a 360rear.

That's pretty cool looking Swampy. Like I said, we've got a couple of rice rockets turned Street Fighter in Hampton Roads, our Buell Scene is growing like gang busters! I see a Buell almost every day (usually going in the other direction) and I'll see two on days when I drive! But there's something about the creativity of fighting your bike. I just thought it was interesting that everything they want to do is stock on my XB. I will probably get some "brass knuckle" heal guards and an hand grenade break fluid reservoir though... Those are just too cool. |

"the only "rally" I've been to where I really felt comfortable was March Badness." Right there with you on that one, Curtiss. I've been to a few bike events, but can't find much in common with most of the people that attend them and I can't stand being stuck in traffic with a bunch of 'paraders'. But more power to the riders that live for foo-foo like that. I hope I never miss a March Badness or Buelltoberfest. I haven't met a finer group of people in my life, no matter what brand of motorcycle they ride. See you there! |

I didn't mean to say that those stretched bikes are fighters. The opposite actually. Read my earlier post, there aren't any street fighter bikes around here, mostly just stretched imports. They only make sense on the track but I see them all over the streets here. There current trend seems to be who can have the longest swingarm and the biggest rear tire. I went 'naked tail' with my M2 a last year as an experiment and was surprised that other riders call it a 'streetfighter' now. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=47623&post=1030498#POST1030498 As far as I know, there is no streetfighter 'scene' where I live, so I guess I'm it. |
