Yeah the Walleye though you'd need to go further North of where I'm at in smaller inland lakes then Lake Michigan. I have Root River here in Racine,Wisconsin. Its about 3 city blocks from my House. Google it.... its pretty good fishing.

I kinda got ruined for fishing down here in the lower 48... Best I ever did was a 27lb Pink Salmon. Damn near pulled me in the river... Don't laugh unless you've fished for Salmon in a raging river : ). I've had the damn things break 100lb test on a lamaglas fly rod, and I've had one break an ugly stick. The damn things PULL! It's even more fun when you accidentally catch them by the tail : ).

I also once caught fifteen 17-22lb Salmon in less than a half hour on the Kenai river ; ).

I won't even mention my dip netting stories : ), but I'll say it's possible to catch a month worth of Salmon dinner in less than 10 seconds : )... while driving a quad...

Yup, once you've caught a 45lb king salmon or a 150 lb halibut.... fishing for anything else just seems like a waste of time.

Bads1, cool fish, what is the third one down?

Speaking of fish tanks, a funny story to share. My business partner is a little different. He is the type of person that gets absorbed into a subject.

Well for his bday last year I got him a little office fish tank globe, and 3 simple guppies.

Well 2 of the guppies perished, but one of the fish named "fishy" has soldiered on.

A few months ago my partner decided the tank was too small for his little fish. So we started the search for something larger, I figured it would be a 5/10 gallon glass tank. Something basic, and cheap.

No.... That was too easy...

Before long I got roped into getting a 100 gallon aquarium grade acrylic tank. That of course weighs 500lbs with water, so I had to find a suitable stand for it. That involved a local custom cabinet maker. Next he thought the fish might like some plants, real plants...
That involved a complex "grow light" setup. Then we need special dirt, rocks, gravel.
Finally he discovered a ultra fancy computer controlled water filtration system.
The cost for all this was more than a few pennies.

All this for a single orange guppy.

Nice Brown, where's home?
Western North Carolina, North Cove was my mailing address.
This is just down the road, the lake is Lake Tahoma, the road going left of the lake is Buck Creek, the road follows the creek, where I caught the Brown.

Funny things- Browns are alien to the Americas...weird, right?
Alien as in introduced, yeah, they're a sport fish. It may not be a brown, I've been know to be wrong once or twice, but I'm pretty sure about this one.

I love trout and walleye! Got plenty of them here in Tennessee. I caught a 80lb Albacore tuna off the Baja peninsula a few years back, talk about a fish that didnt want to be caught! That fish took me a good 15 to 20 minutes to get in the boat! It was worth it in the end though, grilled Albacore is pretty tasty. It was the freshest sushi i have ever had too!

Caught a 4 pound largemouth on 4 pound line last night while chasing two kids around.

I needed a break from fixing the KLR.

I don't know how many times I have told my kids when they are chasing a bug or a dog or something "Don't torture animals for fun... err... except fish". (we catch and release).

The smallmouth in the fish tank came from the little miami river, he is getting big and picking fights with the oscar. There is an albino channel cat in there as well that is nearly a foot long and growing quick, I'll probably have to take him down to the pond next summer.

This was a 42"x 20" northern from Minnesota last year.

I'm big into fishing. I work part-time and am a national Pro Staff member for Gander Mountain.
