(Those familiar with Denver will understand the streets I mention here, but read on...)

I saw something this morning more distracting than a cell phone, GPS or DVD in a car!!

I work in downtown Denver, and come from Arvada (about 10 mi. west). I usually take I-70 east and get off on Washington St. to avoid the clusterf**k that are the I-25 exits in the morning. This morning, on Washington, I end up getting behind a white Dodge Neon that is driving slow and erratically. As I'm on the cycle, I back off and give him room, figuring I know a shortcut to get over to Brighton Blvd/B'way that I can ditch him on. No such luck. He turns (no brakes or signal, I might add! Constant speed - slow) right where I turn. I notice he's got his right arm stretched out between the front seats, bent at the elbow, and up to his head. His head's kinda resting on it. I think, "Great. He's on the phone. That explains his driving." He's weaving, going slow and there's no way I can get around him or turn off. So, I'm stuck behind this ass thru the turn onto B'way. We get up to the light at Blake, where I need to turn right. The light's red, and he comes to a rather abrupt stop, like he didn't notice the light until the last second. No squealing tires though. He was going too slow. He pulls his right hand away from his head as he stops, and I notice that there's no phone in it! That's odd...

That's when I see....

A chick's head pop up out of his lap! She wipes her mouth, and goes right back down!

I turn right. He continues south on B'way.

Damn.

Road head!

File that one under, "Something ELSE new I gotta watch out for..."!

All things considered, he was driving pretty well ! Better than I could!!

Should have made him slam on his brakes REAL hard.

I'd have been tempted to chance getting hit to slam on the brakes.

Been there done that (where there was no traffic though.) Always had DARK tints, you'd have seen nothing.

Never have forgotten that seen from Garp though, and that is what I was thinking when I wrote my post.

I remember a few years ago when I drove for a different company me and another guy from my then home terminal were heading back home up I-71 from Columbus one Saturday morning. Someone behind us tells us on the CB to look at the car flying up the hammer lane. I look down, guy gettin road head in a caddy. When they got up to my co-workers truck his comment was "damn, a cadillac ain't that great of a car." Maybe you had to be there, but the comment cracked me up.
