I mistakenly had my first Danes ears clipped. It was a horrible experience for both he and I. And that was when everything went right. I would never do it again. Most breeding standards now have adopted natural ears as an acceptable representation of the breed. I'm glad to see there are other dog freeks out there like me......or maybe all of us have Buells and just hang out here in cyberland all day! Now I feel like more of a geek!

Boxers are my choice. Very loyal, smart, and protective. Also great with children. Our last two died 8 years ago, only months apart. The male weighed in at 104 lbs. Almost all muscle. The mailman wanted to kick my ass more than once! Still miss Blitz and Maggie. We will have another boxer, hopefully sooner than later.

Its funny you guys bring up ear's. Its starting in some breeds that even tail docking is beginning to be a inhumane act and are changing breed standards.

Well since everyone is showing their new dogs, here's ours:

He's a whopping 5lbs and runs like the wind.

We tend to get smaller dogs. He's like 1/40th of a Cane Corso. : D

Alright, this thread has to stop. I'm going to have to quit my job to open a rescue center, just so I can justify having more than 2 dogs AND be able to spend enough time with all of them.

But seriously, keep the pics coming.

I had a chocolate lab that would not stay out of the water! Even a puddle he would go roll in it just to get wet. I miss him.

I can't imagine not having my dogs. We've got an appointment for the German Shepherd to get 2 root canals and crowns -- never saw that coming.

The valuable lessons I take away this time is make sure your pet insurance does in fact cover dental and if your dog lives to chase basketballs you shouldn't let him chase the cheap rubber Wal-Mart variety that cost $5.00. At $1200.00 per tooth you can go ahead and buy the leather ones and still save money in the end.

I take my kids to work with me everyday. I am down to 2 fo my own(or do I belong to them?) and my step daughter Pixie, the Jack Russell Terriorist. So it is loud when you come into my office. I think that dogs should be allowed anywhere people are.

I also have 4 cats(all rescues). So Andy, I have a rescue shelter of sorts over here. It's hairy at my house. If you are offended by hair you wouldn't want to visit. Also my house is set up for the comfort of our animals. Wes and I have 1 room that is animal free. The rest of the house is a free for all.
We are sick, sick people....

Pammy,
I know what you mean about hair. We combat the hair is much as we can....vacuum twice a week. It sucks but we got used to it. Mastiffs shed!!! Heres a pic when he was lil guy. Taken two years ago. Now he 135 lbs.

Mastiffs don't just shed. That slobber will take the paint off.
I had 3 of the massive mongrels. Wonderful dogs. So heartbreaking when they pass. I loved mine with all my heart and they returned the feeling with the same conviction.
I am now down to a psychotic poodle(she's my favorite), an American Dingo(rescued from Ga, and a Jack Russell Terriorist(she owns me). I have used the Terriorist in my ads. She has no clue she is not a dog.
Animals rule my world!(I have 4 cats too, they needed me)

My wifes dog just bit my right wrist, it is swollen and tender making it hard to ride. I don't know if I should put ice or heat on it.

Just a psycho dog, I was feeding it bacon, being all nice and gentle to him, and the little bit my wrist and wouldn't let go, tore me up to where I saw fat globs under the skin. 8 more days and he goes to the nice dog farm down the road.

Cool pick Smokescreen. Thing is alot of those corso's don't look that good or they happened to get a picture of the dog standing just right for then to show off the qualities that most of the time you don't see.
