Made it home last night. A little over 2400 miles and a sore butt. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones( Vern, thanks for the clear liquid, maybe Seagrams???)
The raft people were happy for the rain.... |

Let's see... Thursday: Left my house at a balmy 29 degrees. Froze my ass off through New York and PA. Crossing into Maryland brought some warmer temps and green grass. Virgina was nicer still and hit the sack in a motel in Charlottesvillle, VA - about 520 miles from home. Friday: Got an early start, weather was nicer and stayed nice through North and South Carolina. Turned cloudy in Georgia, but the rain held off for the whole trip, which was nice. Hung around TWO until bedtime. About 480 miles covered. 1000 miles in two days on a Firebolt - not bad. Saturday: Rain, rain, rain. Hung around TWO most of the day, but found the NEBO guys and did a little riding on the wet roads and ate with them, then found the Hudson Valley guys. Decided to crash on their couch rather then sleep in the hammock with the cold and rain. Rode maybe 30 miles that day. Sunday: Rode to TWO and back just to close my tab and get gas. Then packed up and headed home on the Hammer's trailer in the afternoon. Made it flawlessly to a little north of Harrisburgh, PA when Hammer's trailer blew a bearing somewhere close to 4 am. After finding out we couldn't fix till morning, we all slept in a Wal-Mart parking lot. I use the term "slept" loosely, lol. Monday: Ran all over town trying to find parts. The hub ended up getting ruiined and we just coudln't get the thing back together. My bike came off the trailor and I rode the 250 miles home in the near freezing temps and constant rain while the rest of guys got the truck, lol. No hard feelings, I had to ride some anyways. Got a ticket on I-81 and froze my balls off until I was home. So, to wrap it up - the ride down was long, the ride back longer, the bike is filthy, I'm still cold a day after I got home, and I did about 40 miles of riding while in GA. I CAN'T WAIT for next year! Was a seriously good time aside from the weather, though. Met a lot of good people and can't wait to do it again. |

Thanks! I'm not suprised though. At first it scared and amazed everybody, then with all of the rain, I think some were actually envious. I even heard a suggestion about mounting electric wipers and a defroster. |

HEY T.W.O. Campers! Check your credit card statements! I just checked mine, and the charge to TWO for my camping is on there twice! I have nothing against TWO and don't think it's going to be a problem to get fixed, I just wanted to let you guys know! |

I was getting quite a lot of ridicule about my knee down pictures on a different forum, since my knee and head are right on top of the yellow lines. Then killboy posted the picture of the Snowplow... and somebody photoshopped it for me:

What the h is that on the table above between the pineapples????? I think I prefer my pork cooked and on a plate instead of still on the hoof. Everytime I see someone hanging out over the centerline I think of stuff like that 'shopped snowplow pic above. A lot of the bagger riders around here do the same thing while going straight, tires on the right side of the centerline, but almost half of their bike hanging at least a foot or more into the oncoming lane. I haven't had a mirror tap yet while in the car, but have been close a few times. |

SPL-ATGATT! It's a new word! Description being; 1.rider with all of his gear on hitting an impossible object to overcome. 2.road pizza with helmet, knee/elbow/back pads. |

First post since I got back... what a party. Did a lot during the 5 days I spent there... it wasn't all about rain and cold if you could find your spots to ramble and scramble. Whew... got a lot of stories to tell. |

Vern I think the perfect name for that would be Armadillo. You see those little buggers on the road all the time, but all that armor doesn't stand up to 2 tons of steel. |
