Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but didn't see anywhere on here for opinions/comments on dealer experiences... if there is one, please point me too it I live in central MA and I'm planning to buy a new Buell this spring... coming off an 86 FJ1200. I'm looking at either an XB12SS or STT (ideal bike to me would be an STT with cherry bomb plastics and regular low fender like I've see a few pics of here). Anyone have suggestions on who's a good dealer in New England? I've been to Manchester H-D/Buell and Sheldon's and wasn't too impressed (lack of selection and Buell knowledgable salespeople ). |

Talk to Erik Boos at Sheldon's in Auburn. He is an enthusiast, and he gave us a very fair deal on my wife's Ss last fall. Tell him I referred you. |

Got mine at Gengras in East Hartford, CT. The salesman was good to me and knowledgable about the Buells. The parts department is on and off depending on which guy you get to talk with. Definitely as good as an experience as I've ever had with any other dealerships. PM if you want the salesman's name. |

The NEBO Crew just got back from MBV. There are a few dealers to choose from in the area. Erik over at Sheldon's is a good guy and rides with us. You can also check out Precision in Pawtucket,RI. They are a sponsor and one of the guys that works there, Tripp, is a good guy and rides with the NEBO crew often. Here is a link to a couple of deals at Precision. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/171 43/347142.html?1206454236 I can't say anything bad about Danbury, I stopped in there one day and the guys there were very cool. A couple of guys came out to check out my bike and talk Buell. |

Hi Jettdawg, This is Erik at Sheldon's. I will do everything in my power to help you out and give you a great deal. I can not say anything bad about the other guys in the area, Tripp and Joe at Precision are good people. Up in Manchester, they have their crap together, and are cool. Thank you Crusty, Typeone and Damnut. P.S. I have a STT sitting right here. |

Got mine at Paramount. NIGHTMARE!! I gave them 500 to hold the bike for me, then came in three days later to pick it up. Did all the paperwork, gave 'em more money, and then they said I could come back and pick it up in a week! I got pissy with the the sales manager, and he put the smackdown on the salesman (who was an idiot). Then I guess they sqeezed my bike into the final mechanic's check and told me I could pick it up in four hours. Oh, and when I asked the salesman about it, he pretty much told me I probably knew more about it than he did. Which was definitely true, but who's the f-in salesman here, anyways? Precision is the way to go. At least when you ask about Buells they don't look at you like a dog that was just shown a card trick. One more thing- after I had the bike for a week, I noticed that it was missing a Torx (1 of 4) that held the undertail on. As my office is right across the street, I went over to ask for a replacement. The parts dude looked in a couple of books to humor me, and then told me that he can't get one. WTF?! There are 4,000 of these things on every Buell in the world, and he couldn't scare one up!!! Aaaaargh!!! -end rant- (Message edited by scotty_j on March 31, 2008) |

Thanks for all the input everyone Danbury IS a bit of a hike for me... like over 2 hours I think... Tripp, got your PM... sent one back... thanks. Erik, no offense intended... obviously, I didn't talk to you the 2 times I stopped in at Sheldon's last fall. Next time I go there I'll ask for you. I've only test ridden an XB9S so far and like the ergos, but def want a 12. Now to decide between S, SS, and STT (I sat on a Uly... way too tall for me). The seat height of the S seemed about right for me, but I like the idea of more fuel capacity and better passenger accomodations on the SS and STT with the passenger kit (haven't even seen an SS in person yet). Some of the roadtests I've read say the handling of the SS is considerably lazier than the S (though some felt the S was TOO sharp handling and preferred the SS). Comments? Lastly, do you guys think the upgrades to the '08 models outweigh what I might save by buying a leftover '07 or '06? Jettdawg |

Buy your bike from a private seller. You will pay a considerable amount less. If you are worried about the Warranty don't as the stealerships are clueless on how to fix them. There are some Great deals out there from guys who have given up on the bikes due to stealership actions, Take advantage of this... Just do not get cought up in the moment when buying and you will be good, So many times I have seen guys pay MSRP for these rides when they could have saved thousands if they were patient.... |

+1 Eric. I am a big fan of the XB12Ss. I like the longer wheelbase, and the handling is great. Even with the longer wheelbase, and more relaxed steering angle the Ss it is still shorter and has more radical geometry that the typical motorcycle. |
