Hey guys,
I got my new Force yesterday.

It didnt seem to go on like the instructions said it should. But actually the instructions aren't terribly clear as to which parts go on which end of the pipe.

Anyway, does anyone have pics of there Force pipe install..preferably pics of the moutning systems.

I think mine's fine and its not bound up but I just want to be sure and prevent any issue with cracking.

I started it up and it is loud but I think I'm gonna like it.

In general I always leave exhaust fasteners and joints loose, but attached. Start at the heads, torque properly as you work your way down the pipe. Should cut down on bind and promote long life.

Not having a Force (yet, considering one for the S1W though) I can't answer to the specifics. I'd be interested in learning your take on it - what bike is it on, what exhaust did you have before, what has it done to your powerband (erased the midrange, lowered it a bit, killed the bottom end, brought the top end to life, etc), and how is the sound going down the road? I'm looking for a replacement for the external disc Supertrapp on my S2 as it buzzes too much for my taste (HORRIBLE resonance in my helmet). Easy way out for me is take the S1W system off, with SS2R, put it on the S2 because I love its nice low-frequency rumble, and get a Force for the S1W.

Before you ask - I riveted the street baffle on - the previous owner had 2 huge hex head bolts holding it on - looked like crap .. rivets look much better. ..

Rat - the Force pipe on a stock bike is going to hinder performance .. even a mildly modded motor doesn't really benefit from it .. lose bottom, yes comes alive up top, but not nearly what your ST does, or just about any of the aftermarket slip-ons .. the ST you have is one of the best cans you can use for performance because you can tune it ..

The mounts I had when I was running a Force are their newest/updated mounts ... if you bought it new it should come with the same mountings I have pictured - I just bought them at the beginning of the year ..

I also had not upgraded the front hanger on the bike when that was mounted ...

Older systems had the front mount welded to the pipe (bad - caused many pipes to crack .. they changed to the rubber strap up front)

Here is what it looked like when I got the bike - before I cut off the front mounting bracket, welded cracks, wrapped it, then bought the new mounting hardware...

OK - just looked at the original picture (it was cropped to just show the exhaust ... and cigarette butts ) .. I just swept all the crap out of the way (including tools, rags, etc.. ) off to the side closest the bench ... can't be rolling the bike over all the crap on the floor .. hence the higher concentration ...

<sigh> I know, the ST performs well. I just hatehatehate that blattt sound it makes. I grew up on musclecars, still own a '72 Satellite with dual 3" flowmasters. *THAT'S* the sound I like. Even better that it's a 13 second streetable station wagon, LOL.

Where oh where is an S2 race muffler when you need one....?
