So my 2000 M2 seems Orange or red.. I know the orange is not as crazy Orange as the lava Orange of a frame ... maybe the age and sunlight caused the Orange to darken or red to lighten... so anyone have a picture of and snap red and a molten orange bike next to one another? |

I don’t recall an orange in the M2 line up. Bet it’s faded red. |

Only orange on the M2 line was the frame. |

Ahhhh, most likely the color is just faded... any tips or products for cleaning/polishing/restoring the plastics? Thank goodness there’s no stickers/decals on the tank, on my list to buy... |

No decals usually means it’s not factory paint any longer. May be solid color with no clear. That can be buffed with fine compound to bring back the color if it’s faded |

So which ones/years had 3D decals on top of the paint and which ones were stickers under the clearcoat? So many changes over the years boggles my mind! Stickers, shifters, shocks, colors of bodywork/frames/wheels... not to mention all the customization people do! |

Only orange on the M2 line was the frame. Incorrect. I bought a 99 M2 new and it was Molten Orange with a black frame and wheels. Not "faded red" but very similar to the General Lee - DEFINITELY an orange, but deeper orange (slightly more red, less yellow) than the orange frames. |

Not sure if this helps, but these are two pictures of bikes from pretty much the same angle. Don't think the orange bikes typically looked quite as nice as this one. I think the sunlight just happens to be hitting it perfectly.
and just for good measure, one of my favorite pictures of a molten orange bike, color looks amazing.

The bottom one doesn't look like Molten Orange. Molten Orange is non-metallic. Either that's a metallic-orange repaint...or it's a really funky photo. I'll have to dig through old photos to find some of my old bike, when I get home. |
