I thought total 1996 S2T build was 501 (398 49 state, 36 California, 26 Canada, 41 Japan), but was never clear if the Canada and Japan ones were included in the 398, then I suppose it would just be 434 total? |

What a small world these wonderful bikes can create. Long story short, a buddy showed me that kijiji ad a few weeks ago. I responded to the ad fairly soon after. The seller, a life long motorcycle enthusiast, still competes in vintage trials in the north east United States and Canada but a recent back operation required him to stop riding heavier street bikes. He sold his Road King hoping to continue riding the S2T. Unfortunately the Buell was still too heavy as his back ailment compromised the strength in his legs. Fortunately for me the fall is a tough time to sell a bike in Canada, or I may never have seen his ad. A genuine pleasure to meet Yves and his lovely wife Dianne. Their kindness and hospitality to me (and my dog!), complete strangers, was wonderful and truly humbling and deserving of a story in itself. Yves and Dianne live near the picturesque town of Wakefield, Quebec. A beautiful slice of heaven on earth accurately describes the area without exaggeration. Feeling very pleased to have found this bike, especially in this condition. A short ride in Yves neighbourhood confirmed that I'd found my new favourite motorcycle. Very happy to load it onto my truck.

Thx for sharing the sig plate...Buell obviously didn't count the CDN, Cali and Japan ones on the sig plate final #s to show 398..just listed them as 49 state..I still have # 003 and had 107..Supposedly 26 came up here to Canada..I don't have either signature plate.HB |

Are you sure 398 wasn't the total count? Seems a fairly major oversight for a company that was clearly paying attention. |

Lornce: Check your carb to air cleaner bracket for frame interference. I broke two "chrome" ones (drag specialties) because of them hitting the frame. Went out west to NRHS and got the black one. Much better quality and zero issues. Nice ride you have there |
