Hey everyone new to the forum here. My 2000 M2 Cyclone has damaged worn out rear isolators. I've looked at the manual. There is a slight banging rattle metal on metal sensation while riding in a straight line over tiny bumps. Do I need to be prepared to replace bearings as well. Any special tools and what parts I should get beforehand? I want the repair to be quick and correct, so I can still ride up until I'm ready to take time to do it and soon after the repair. Thanks everyone! |

Ok There are many different ways people swear by. Here is what works for me. If your bearings are good then reuse. remove tank Remove seat Remove rear fairing Hook a ratchet strap up to you rafters and the rear seat hoop tighten just till you have tension on the back. Disconnect rear of the shock Remove isolator bolts Make sure the front is stable in a stand or have a friend hold it, Crank up ratchet strap till rear tire s up 3" or sospray some lube between frame and iOS Push down on rear tire/swing arm with hard fast joking motion it should come out Install new iOS into frame make sure the ligament pin fits nice and is not to ong grind if needed. Put a little lube right on the swingarm where the iOS will meet first. Slowly lower bike till it just touches work I so in to start the frame Loosen ratchet push down on frame to realignment point and follow torque requirements |

Thanks guys. Feeling a bit more confident about getting this done. Where can I get a set of isolators. I've read there exist different types. With or without wings? Original and upgraded? |

Got my left rear, right rear and front isolator kit from Lance on eBay. I've read somewhere to replace them all at the same time? True? |

Normally it wouldn't hurt but the new front isolators have a bushing in there for a smaller diameter bolt for a Harley. Someone correct me if this has changed. I'd keep the stock front isolator in place if it's not ripped. |
