I like the old bread box and I am looking for a stock filter. All I am finding are K&N's and K&N knock offs. Any ideas? THANKS! |

Boy I would think you could find very inexpensive take-offs. Not many favor that style. |

Do you have a picture of the old filter element? I think I still have the old K&N from my X1 breadbox race kit. |

What's wrong with the K&N's that you don't want one? That's a lifetime filter isn't it? |

I've yet to open my breadbox and see if I have a paper or k&n filter (recently aquire X1), but I can speak to the paper filter with regard to my XB. The k&n flows more air and makes the bike run lean / hot if you have not remapped your ecu. (Message edited by midknyte on May 02, 2016) |

K&N filters tend to let more dirt in and is the first step down a long, expensive road... The bike runs great as is. I am trying to keep it stock as much as I can. But its hard! I have a problem with modifying stuff.... once I start is keeps going. First it would be the filter... then the exhaust... heads... cams... It would never end until my wallet ran dry or the bike was no longer trust worthy... so for now, I am on the hunt for a stockish filter. |
