I'm still looking for used lower fairings either in a pair or one at a time. What do you think is a fair price for a set of fairings needing paint? I may be way off in my thinking. Thanks (Message edited by johnod on December 04, 2014) |

Airtech has reproductions available. You will need to fit, drill and sand prior to paint. http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/buell/S21995-9 6.htm The pieces I have purchased from them seem to be fine, but you will find mixed reviews from other members here. Good luck! |

Thought I'd see if I can find some OEM first. Thanks. |

Yep seen those. Seems a lot to me, that's why I asked the question. |

Sounds about right for the ebay ad. Vintage Parts may have them. Have your shop inquire. You'll need the Buell part # for them to search. |

There are a pair here for sale . . .at least I think I saw some. I have a number of them but I think most are prototypes built during development and I'm not sure they are exactly like the ones that went for sale. I actually wandered upon nearly a pickup load of S2 body parts last Sunday which I reboxed and sent off to storage. I'd suspect that a pair of lowers, at anywhere between $300 and $500 is going to be about where the market is. There are very likely some out there in the P&A pipeline.

You bet . . it was like a waltz through memory-ville . . . that bodywork was produced in 1993 and 1994 during the time discussion about making a "T" model were on-going. One of the horrors the world was spared . . . was the S2 with 4 bags. It would have been a wonderful handling bike, as weight on the front can do some neat things, but . . just imagine . . and S2 with a pair of bags on the read AND on the front. Ahhhh. . .the beauty of the brainstorm! |

bicyclists that tour heavy use bags (Paniers) on front and rear. It might look funny but it does have a purpose. |

It does look funny . . but (and you can see an example on an upcoming HERO product) it makes a lot of sense from an engineering and practical sense. |

What's funny is I actually had thoughts about making storage bags in front of the lowers. It would look odd but imagine the extra space! |

"and you can see an example on an upcoming HERO product" Huh? Bags on the front? That thing has a SEAT up front! |

Forward top holes attach with the phillips head screws that hold the tank cover on. Rear top holes have P clamps that grip the frame rails. Lower holes also get P clamps, that attach to the frame downtubes. Bottoms simply hang in front of your toes. If you need photos, let me know. |

I question to implied orientation of clamp #9 on the right lower just thinking things through in my head. Although I have never owned an S2T or a complete set of (S2) fairing lowers. I can say that screw #2 and washer #3 are outside of the tank cover on each side, however. It should help some - hopefully - if needed, 1313 |

I also put a very rare 1995 S2 service manual supplement on eBay lays week. There were no takers but it was the official factory document in which we dealt with a lot of those things. |

There were no takers Yeah, but...your comment about 'S2 collectors' had me chomping at the bit... Dammit 1313, you are such a show off Hey, I'm a strong believer in having every piece of technical literature and/or manual for any bike I own. Yeah I don't own a 1996 S2 or S2-T, but I've got both 1995 S2 and 1995/1996 S2/S2-T parts books (and service manuals). Heck, I wish I had every manual for every Buell - you know, for future acquisitions... This is one thing that really irks me about EBR ownership. I know it will pass, eventually, but how can EBR compare themselves to the likes of Ducati. Legal or not, I can download a service manual online for a Panigale. For the EBR, the only service information available right now is 'dealership only'. Like comparing pasta to cheese, I guess... Sorry to get off on a tangent, but since I have an EBR that needs to have it's rear tire replaced, and I can't get info on the manufacturer's recommended method for removing and reinstalling the rear wheel, it's kind of wearing on me some. Knowledge is power, controlling the knowledge - for whatever reason - controls the power. I like to share knowledge whenever and however I can, 1313 |

I'm going to have to look. There was .... As some will recall..... A bit of a snag rolling the S2 out in the Kingdom of Kalifornia. It was a mistake on out part...... Pretty much the same thing that slowed the RX sales in CA last year. The S2 had a couple manuals .....we started with a 1995 and followed up with a 95/96. I suspect, but will have to look, that the supplement may have been applicable to CA bikes only. I found a case of unopened manuals the other day. There were dealer set-up and PDI manuals and also some time and standard cost units for service and repair on the S2. Fun times. I was telling someone today about my S2 having been ridden....on various Buell missions... In 44 states. Great memories. |

Yes, I currently have the 95/96 book for mine. Haven't found any issues in it yet...at least, nothing I've done to the bike thus far, per the book, has caused any problems... |

I have one of the California supplement manuals- it's still in the plastic cover but I assume it goes over how to take that awful Quicksilver carb off and replace it with something that works, after you get the bike all registered and legally binding with the AQMD, CARB, FBI, CIA, Homeland Security (wait, were they around for the S2 years?) etc. so that your 1200cc motorcycle doesn't kill everyone on the west coast with it's lethal emissions. or not. I should unwrap it and read it, but that would cut it's "collectable" value down to zilch, from the vast sum it's worth now. or not. If someone needs it, contact me. For Court: If it's still here next time you are out this way, Court, it's yours - speaking of "out here", any plans for visitation of the kids this Xmas? Let me know, we'll take a ride - Got pie? |

Brankin: Do you have the 1995 Supplement? Negatory, Red Rider. I saw the (Calif. Models Only) on the cover and presumed it only covered the Quicksliver carb and carbon canister and other CA. only stuff and thought I wouldn't need it. But then again, for a collection chronicling the early days of Buell, it's a great piece... On the fence (better than off my rocker, no?), 1313 |

Pie?........ I'm there. When the rest of the world learns who you are married to my great gig is over. I get in next week and have found the coolest place in the world to hide out. I'll call this week and coordinate some logistics. I'd love pie.......I mean. TO SEE YOU TWO!! :-) Don't open the plastic. I've got plenty of them. |
