So, I am close to pulling the trigger on a certain Westwind. Reviewing the video of the bike, I noticed that the bike currently has an aftermarket petcock installed and the Fuel shutoff switch seems to be bypassed.

So, a couple of questions come up.

1. Is the stock fuel switch setup desirable, or was it problematic? I ask this because the one RS we had at our dealership developed a problem in the same area back in '94 on one of it's first demo rides.

2. If I wanted to restore that system, are the parts available at all?

No problems.

Parts readily available.
