200 is probably too big. Try a 190 or a95 first.
The stocker was a 200, most drop to 185 -195.
The pilot should be a 45 or in a few cases a 48.

My stocker was a 195/43 California model. Runs good at 4800 feet with a 200/45. Supertrapp muff and Bartels intake.

My stock California model was 200, 42. I'm about Sea Level, maybe 30-40 feet. My 2000 parts book shows these as the stock numbers for US models. Are they changed for the local conditions? Who would do it? The factory or the local dealer who would know the conditions?

Well I was probably wrong about the 43 jet then. Did have to up the main though as bike was running too lean, esp on the interstate. Bike would run hot then go into skip spark mode and I'd have to pull over and let it cool, just short around town trips would take twice as long if the bike overheated. Dynojet 200 main was the fix, plus shimming the needle up a bit.

Purchased my bike in Berkeley with 1100 miles on it from a person who bought it locally.

Yeah, they run like crap on the bottom with a 43. It was an emissions thing. Stumble and fart...and the infamous Keihn Cough.
