I just replaced my rear tire and belt. I used the caliper method to measure the adjuster pocket to adjuster distance for the rear wheel alignment. I am within 2 thousands of an inch. Now when I ride, the belt tracks to the inside and rubs on the inner fender and the lower part of the transmission bellow the front pulley. It did not do this to my knowledge before. I adjusted it so that the right side was forward of the left by up to .150 inches and it still did not track correctly on the pulleys.

Try turning the belt around.

First of all the DRIVE BELT should have 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 inch's of play on the belt TIGHT spot ...

If you want the DRIVE BELT to run in the CENTER of the REAR SPROCKET you must adjust the AXLE ADJUSTERS correctly ...

Try measuring from the axle center to swingarm pivot bolt center on each side. Probably be more accurate.

When i adjust my rear axle i use a micrometer. It just assures that i get it in the right place. I have never trusted those little adjustment lines that most bikes have.

Maybe I'm wrong but as long as I think the wheel is true to the rear sprocket I adjust mine so the belt tracks in the middle of the rear sprocket and runs properly in the front one. I don't care if it is square to the front end (unless grossly out and then we may have other issues) I do not like the belt rubbing on the side of either sprocket. Thankyou.

Ok, so I flipped the belt around, no dice. I aligned the wheel using the axle to swing arm pivot method, still no dice it tracks to the inside. I cannot figure this out. The right hand isolator bolt is in the center of the frame hole (the removable frame member), the left side isolator bolt is toward the rear of the frame hole. This could indicate that the swing arm is out of alignment to the bike, but in this direction it should track to the outside not inside because the right side would be ahead of the left side. The isolators have a small hole in the steel plate part that a pin from the removable panel goes into, I have to line this up and then twist the panel counter clockwise a little to get the bolt holes to line up. Is this normal. Neither of the isolators look torn or broken, there is no play in any of the engine mounts, there is no play in the trans output shaft or front pulley. This problem did not occur until I changed there rear tire an put a new belt on. I don't think a bent wheel pulley would do this?... Any suggestions?

Sounds like time to check out the swing arm bearings. I don't know how you would check them without dismantling.
