Well tonight I had a session with the X1 and ECM spy Version OLD, I have noticed that the X1 is not quite up to snuff rear plug is slightly leaner than the front did the air leak check OK sofar noticed that the idle hunted quite a bit and the bike popped every so often lowered the afv ran worse ( 110 to 100 ) raised to 115 ran better just re did injector orings and intake seals, more tests by weeks end I hope that I am not in for 120$ worth of injectors..... stay tuned |

Would the temp sensor cause this? |

All you have to do is disconnect it to find out ... |

My son's not going to use any of the EFI stuff from the 99 X1 basketcase he picked up. Let me know if any of it can work for you. Much more economical than new, if it fits. AL |

Gixx: Yes the Iat or the Et sensor could cause this problem. when cooled off the et read 22c and Iat read 20 c so I think that they were not way off and were working I think it may be dying fuel pump / plugged injectors / filter .... Of course I have had the heads re worked and had bumped the AFV to 110 ( it stayed there too ) I bumped it to 115 the other night. Lefty I would pay frieght for the bits, just for testing parts drop me a line this week end, If your time permits.. |

I'd add exhaust leaks to the list of items to check and rule out. |

I think I have a dying pump too. Interested to see what ultimately fixes you! |

bump I replaced a rocker box ( not related to issue ) and found the main oil hose from the pump leaking just got it back on the road, the enriched idle is enough to soot the plugs, the bike idles poorly when cold good when warm, the fuel pressure test hammered the gauge across the 40-60 psi range I presume 50psi ( the mean pressure was the ideal reading ) Some one posted up a link for the fuel pump aftermarket ( Walbro makes it ) |
