I have a 00 M2. Are there other Buell models mufflers that will work with my cyclone? Or other manufacturers..Yam, Suz, Hon, Duc ?
I don't want to spend 300. for a muffler.
my other option is to mod my existing but I don't want to loose too much HP.

Other Buell mufflers than what?
Stock? Race Can?
There are a number of aftermarket cans out there, but to be honest, the Buell Race muff is the best bang for your buck....IF you can find one. I assume you are running the stock header; if so, the race can will not fit. You would probably do best with THIS:
http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/6172.html
as it is a direct slip on. Yeah, it's $400.00, but by the time you're done cobbling something up, you'll probably sink that into it.
One thing; the D&D is friggin' LOUD. If you have cranky neighbors, don't even bother. Plus, you'll probably end up like me and having to use the ear plugs every time I ride.
One other thought; you could browse E-bay for a used muff. I've seen the entire race exhaust for a little more than the D&D on occasion. That's where I bought my race kit...piece by piece.}

Right now I have a glass pack(cherry bomb style)from Auto Zone on mine. Had a muffler shop put a turn down end on it.Got about forty bucks in it.Runs good ,sounds good. I put it on when I'm repacking the race can and sometimes forget to take it back off.

Edit: Disregard, apparently I was lazy and didn't search before I posted this, saw that its been discussed a lot.

My V&H muffler sheered off the rear mount and cracked on the elbow part of the pipe recently. The pipe got a little bent as I was taking it off so between the combination of issues with that muffler I'm thinking of scrapping my original plan to see if someone could weld it back together. I'm considering isntead picking up a supertrapp (the one listed on American Sport Bike), does anyone have any experience with it? I'm not sure what jets are in the carb as the PO did not know, all the mods done (V&H muffler, breather, and forcewinder intake) had been performed by the owner prior. I would consider rejetting the carbs in the future (possibly when I have time over the winter) so I was wondering especially about how easy it really would be to add the "diffuser disks" in after it's been run on the stock setting.

Here are some pictures of the broken elbow pipe. You can see that the crack got bent apart (it was actually very hard to see initially) and I suspect a little more damage was done trying to wrestle the thing off

(also Buellistic, PM sent)

M2marc,
I have couple of Bullett exhausts that were made for Buells for a while that are pretty nice. I haven't used it in a while. Let me know if you're interested.

Supertrapp has been my favorite aftermarket pipe on my bike. I really like it a lot. it is quite heavy but has a great sound without splitting eardrums. Finding a used one at a price I could bear took years - it was a little scuffed and needed R&R on the whole thing, but I think it was worth it.

I don't think modifying a pipe from another bike will work out, unless you've got serious fabrication skills, or serious motivation and a lot of time... All 99-02 Buell pipes (excepting the P3 Blast) will work for your application.

All-time favorite pipe ever, BORLA.

Mr. P - I think your pipe is all used up. could build a new rear bracket to weld on, though that elbow doesn't look to have a whole lot of good metal left in it.

Not sure if this helps or hurts but I'm running a NASCAR muffler off the PO's stock car. Cheap, quiet (that part's a bummer, but it's not too much quieter than stock), and definitely one a unique look/sound, of course I'm kind of a fan of the 'grissly look' (?!?) on bikes-

That being said, I guess the point is you can get pretty creative and original with what you're looking to do. (I personally find 'creative' appears on my mechanical endeavors the lower my budget is....)

There's quite a few 'creative solutions' of people adapting all sorts of car glass-packs, and other motorcycle generic exhausts the Buell header, and race header. I don't know how we could search and collect them all, but there's a bunch. It's not tracked, of course, how many have mounts break, and stuff. Probably a significant percentage, but anything home-made, should be home-fixable.

When mine lets lose or rusts off I plan on using the Cherry Bomb Muffler. Cheap, small and heavy gauge steel!!!
