Guys,I have to change the shock on my 95 S2. I bought an 01-02/second recall Showa off ebay a year ago that was billed as being correct for an S2. I just pulled it out of the box and it measures 14.7".I have a first recall shock mounted which measures 16.5". I did a search and found mention of the two different front shock brackets, curved for the short shock and straight for the longer shock. My question is,what are my choices? Are the curved brackets available from the dealer? Ebay?Badweb? Any help or comments are appreciated. |

I am not sure if they are available from HD anymore or not. I would be surprised as many of the tuber parts are being discontinued. I was going the other way a couple of years ago and the 16-1/2" mounts were not common on ebay. I just checked and there are three 16-1/2" brackets listed but no 14.7" http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 563036.jpg Here is a pic I pulled from a classified ad showing the two brackets, the "boomerang" bracket on the left is the one you need. Yea,I checked ebay after I posted and got the same result. The box my shock came in has a cutout for the bracket.I'm guessing the seller robbed the bracket to sell it separately. I should have checked the box when I got it and asked the seller.Oh well. |

I do believe you will need the boomerang shock bracket. Alas I do not have a spare. Under suspension in the K Vault there are pics of the 2 (early vs. later). Good luck. |
