Maybe this is a solution!? http://www.vibrationmounts.com/rfq/VM110711.htm or some shock spacer & rubber set from http://www.mikesxs.net/products-18.html |

I would be patient because sometimes the seller has more than one kit see if he posts another. |

i have a mold i made and have injected a few sets for myself. The material i used though which i had at work is a little soft. If i can find a better material i could make a few. anyone have any input on material i should us? Any idea on shore hardness of the original bushings?

I would seriously consider updating the front mount to the Y type. If you're going to spend $50 for the bushings, why not spend $125 and get a complete kit for the new mount? It really is a much better design. Those bushings will just wear out again. The Y mount is bullet proof. |

does the y mount not have bushings as well? |

Yes, but they are much larger, and can handle the vibration better. I don't think I've ever heard of a set failing. Not to say it can't happen, but the old ones fail routinely. I replaced mine three times before upgrading. No issues with the new ones. |

Replace the complete bracket with one of these. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1027-Buell-X1-M2-S3 -S1-S2-improved-muffler-hanger-set-/390265554011?p t=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5adda3c45 b |

i'm fully aware of the upgraded bracket, i was just curious on the price the grommets went for on the bay. |

For $25 more you can get a new one with all the bolts etc. Seems worth it to me. |

I have a bike with each of the mounts, and haven't had issues with either. I do have a V&H mounted on the original style. I don't know if the weight of the muffler has allowed it hold up better. That being said I would still like to get a spare set of grommets. |

I made some out of polyurethane shock mounts I had lying around. So far, so good. |

I had a place called Action Rubber that makes gaskets and hoses cut some on a Waterjet for me. I had them make me two and it cost me $9.00. |
